  1. An extreme example , as you said. but, it's that thinking that brought the question to my mind
  2. I got my Bugle this week. I appreciate you writing your ideas for us to see. Buicks are the best cars, and I hope we keep the BCA the best club.
  3. I did some battery post maintenance on the Roadmaster, F250, and the Durango. cleaned them up with a wire brush. Installed the little felt doo-dads. And applied some pink protectant spray I replaced the Durango's painted grill with a bright grill then, I drove the Roadmaster around the neighborhood, after I washed the dust off her. Maybe tomorrow I'll go fill up with some of the good non-ethanol gasoline, one county south
  4. JohnD, I thank you for your willingness to serve, and to the others that are running the same thanks. And thank you for weighing in on my question. good luck
  5. Los Angeles California, Las Vegas Nevada, Grand Canyon Arizona. Are where the rust free junk yards (car breaks) are found.
  6. Yes, I do. And it is a very valid point it is. And, I would like to elaborate on my point, I belong to a local association of professionals. That association has a very similar board of six at large members serving two year terms. Each year, three of the seats terms' end. And those three seats are filled in a very similar manner, where voters are allowed to vote for three candidates. In the election that my candidate lost by two votes, I realized that two of my votes kept him out of a runoff. edit; JohnD1956, are there candidates that you would so consider?
  7. Thank you, that answers my question. You see my point about casting three votes would be casting two votes AGAINST my candidate. And, you anticipated and answered my next question (3 votes for one candidate, NOT Chicago ;-D ) So John, you'll be getting one vote from me. And I will NOT be voting AGAINST you.
  8. My "Bugle" arrived today, along with the BOD ballot.. The instructions say to vote for three. Am I required to cast three votes? That would mean I have to cast TWO votes AGAINST the candidate that I'm backing ...
  9. I like the F-150 idea. Parts likely will be easier to get for a '79 Ford
  10. We did have a very nice Easter , Cort, I hope y'all did too.
  11. What Willie says is right. I just went out to crank mine. It's been less than 48 hours since I drove it. It took several minutes of cranking before it fired (crank ten seconds rest for 30 seconds). I've got to put an electric fuel pump on mine. That cranking to fill the carburetor is a lot of wear and tear on the starter and battery. ... After cruising Saturday, on the way home, I found a non-ethanol gasoline station. I topped off there (8 gallons). I'm going to start making a regular trip toward that gas station
  12. I have better luck with the round feeler gauges, rather than the flat ones
  13. Does that 3800 have a plastic intake manifold? The plastic manifold can warp causing vacuum leak.
  14. The Mercury truck looks promising !! Jaguar parts are big money
  15. As bad as that floor looks, I suspect the frame may be too far gone as well. I think you'll do better to find a car that runs. Then you can drive it as you fix it up. It's great for the morale to be able to drive it around.
  16. I washed the dust off the Roadmaster. And, drove it one county south to a cruise in. There's a non-ethanol gas station on the way home. I filled up with 87 octane non-ethanol. I added a pint of STP octane boost and 4 ounces of Marvel Mystery Oil.
  17. French is difficult for me to speak. And, still more difficult for me to understand spoken French.:confused: I understand better when I read French. And, I can write a phrase or two. I do understand what you wrote:D. I am a student of Spanish and I understand your difficulty of translating. I have that difficulty translating my first language (English) to my second language (Spanish). Sometimes in English "line" can also mean "string". But, in the case of automobile assembly, it is 'line'. And, alas, alack, there are no 1969 Buick models... Sometimes I see a 1955, but not often. You have to keep looking, or as we say in America "keep your eyes peeled":)
  18. Buick models on Ebay http://www.mr-cash.com/amt-buick
  19. I caught on to the hackers by clicking the member's name and then clicking "view forum posts" , the previous most recent post was several years old. And, wording was what was most suspect.
  20. The successful hackers have posted parts for sale. What I saw were two that were obvious hacks , on long dormant members' accounts. The wording (poor) of the sale can be a clue that they are hacks...
