  1. Is there a company that can make the old style oil impregnated cardboard firewall padding? All the ones I have been able to find can make them in fiberglass, but that's just wrong for a proper restoration of a pre war car.
  2. The running board pattern is a raised striped version with five small grooves in between the raised area. The reproduction running board mat that is available isn't correct doesn't have the small grooves between the raised area. Its just wrong and jumps out at you when you see them. I think a tool can be made to machine the grooves in. Picture is from the net of the reproduction running board material.
  3. Update on the floor mat. I had a chance to see a very low mileage original 1930 77 roadster and it has the same pattern as used in the running boards, The floor mat had a boarder and raised lip around it. What's interesting is the trunk mat is the same pattern, but without the boarder and raised lip. I believe that all models from 1928 to 1930 would have the same style of floor mat.
  4. Narve, While cleaning the shop I found a crusty old series 75 master cylinder and it to has the notch.
  5. Keiser31, you are correct, after studying the the picture it does appear to be a diamond pattern. Bloo, thanks for the links! I doubt anyone makes this pattern, and might need to make it myself. I was hoping I didn't have to go down that path.
  6. Leo, This helps, thanks. From the looks of it, it could be a pyramid pattern possibly. Interesting, its has Chrysler molded in on the passenger side along and a border around it.
  7. What is the correct pattern on the floor mat of a 1929 model 75 roadster? I have nothing to compare against as mine disappeared a long time ago. I did find this picture on the net of a model 75 with a pattern. Does anyone reproduce this style?
  8. I think the biggest issue your going to run into is finding a good core with a usable armature. I went through four cores and could not find one good usable armature, reliable companies that can do the armature windings are like hens teeth. I did find a WWII multi fuel truck (gas/diesel/kerosene) that used the same armature in its starter (part number stamped on my Model 75 and WWII truck armature 818134).
  9. Narve, I cant see it in your photo, but on my series 75 master cylinder and the spare on my shelf both have a notch in the mounting flange for clearance. I had mine sleeved along the the wheel cylinders.
  10. Bob, you are the first to get a ride. I was looking for you at the pre war swap meet, didn't see you and you didn't miss much. It was a very low turnout. By the way, this is one of the starters you gave me.
  11. I received my stater back from the re-builders and want to detail it for concourse showing. Does anyone know if the original band on the end was galvanized, tinned or cad plated and if the adjustment rod and ends for the starter switch arm plated or pained? The re-builders did a good job, considering this looked like it was fished out of a lake and had to to find a NOS armature.
  12. Leo, I bought some earlier in the year from Roger Krause racing https://rogerkrausracing.com/ they were metal stem and I believe made by Blockley tires out of the UK.
  13. Cooper, do you also need the trunk lid? It also has no wood left in it and in the same condition.
  14. I am in California and there are a few issues on the back half of the body. Both wheel wells are rusted through and will need to be replaced and on the right side quarter panel something fell on it when it was parked in a barn for decades and put a good size dent. I do have a back half of a coupe body that goes with it for patch panels. I am hobbling around with a broken leg, but if you want more pictures and give me some time I can get them. The body was complete and was on a rolling car that I was parting out.
  15. Some of us have to go through this everyday, the cheap motels around here are $500 a night and the same story. Its a shame what has happened to this state.
  16. Where are you located? I have a 1929 Model 75 roadster body I am parting out. There is no wood left , the hood has been sold and the doors may be gone.
  17. Thanks for all the info, this will help a lot. I will need to clean everything and look for numbers.
  18. I have a bunch of backing plates and a bunch of brake shoes with most covered in crud and apart in a bin. I want to put some sets together and would like to know if the backing plates and shoes are the same front to back or are they different for the front axle versus the back axle ?
  19. Looking for a nice pair of 1928 Essex car frame rails in good shape.
