  1. If the generator got that hot, there's probably major issues internally and I would guess the field coils are shorted which is common on the Dyneto units. Id be happy to help you with your generator issues, email me directly to discuss.

  2. I can supply and stamp any tag you may need. I carry many different ones, some with both Anderson and Dayton, some with only one, both large and small. The rivets are referred to U-drive screws and if you buy the tag from me I will include new rivets/screws. Email me direct with any questions or specifics.

    Thanks,

  3. Unfortunately, I think the casting option has gone away unless we start from scratch. I would rebuild yours and convert to a different style that uses a cast iron brush plate housing. I've done quite a few and once complete most people can not tell that the conversion was done. Pictures (before and after) below of a job done to show this example. Its cheaper than casting or machining as well, those costs have gone up a lot in the past few years. Email me directly if you are interested or have questions.

  4. Email me directly if you could with pictures and exactly what you are looking for. I have the bendix/drive assembly in stock, but the reduction gear is separate and is a hard to find piece. If someone would send me their original worn gear, I would make several as it is a somewhat common requested item.

  5. Looks like you have already figured this all out. My book shows a 1914 Buick  Models B-24, B-25, B-36 & B-37 taking a possibility of four different Delco Motor Generators. One of them being the model 42 that you indicate you have. It also could take a model 26, 33 or 40. It does have the two terminals out the side like on yours which is unique compared to most of the other Buick starter generators. Always happy to help if you need any other information.
