  1. I didn't explain my master switch, it does have a large LEVER handle, not a toggle. It's one NHRA recommends. I also have separate large charging posts as battery is concealed. Nothing is hook to the charging posts, only the feel cables. In 22 years of this set up, I haven't experienced any issues, just the small spark when I removed the power line going to a amp, and was surprised in that the master was in the OFF position. I have removed all power lines fo the sound system, including all the equipment. Thank You for your input, I believe I'm clean of any draw. Dale in Indy
  2. We ALL know EPA years ago put lots and lots of foundries OUT OF BUSINESS. We had a couple great foundry in Saginaw Michigan in the late 60's, but EPA put so many restrictions on them that the smaller ones went out. One took on small jobs, but unless you can find one OFF THE BEATEN PATH, that hasn't seen or heard from EPA, well, HIGH COST GALORE. I know you don't care for TUBE pieces, but that's the route I would explore. With this being such a large problem, maybe judges would give folks a break, MAYBE, probably not. Thanks Matt for YOUR efforts, Dale in Indy
  3. Don't TELL all the 41's running progressive linkage for the past 75+ years as, THEY DON'T KNOW THAT. Dale in Indy
  4. If you use progressive throttle linkage, then the engine is on just one carb until you floor it so to speak, so I don't see why it would bog down your car, IMO
  5. Looks like you need to turn your battery 180 degrees, if I see the cables right. Nice compartment, Dale in Indy
  6. Post #120 is what I believe is Cornet Copper color on the body, that is what our 52 RM was with Beach White under the sweep spear. People would stop us and ask about the color, in the sun it was a site to see. Dale in Indy
  7. There is one of dim dare FITTY FO'S with the built in windshield visor, not my choice design. hehe. Still recall when the first one showed up at the dealership, I said OH, NO....... I do LOVE dim FITTY FO'S though, well MOST models. Really liked my 54 Century HT with SCALLOPS. Married in it 55+ years ago. Dale in Indy A
  8. First post,,,,,,,,NICE AND TIDY SHOP, must be a HOARDER of sorts. Dale in Indy
  9. Ok, here is how it is wired: The battery is approx. 30" from the large toggle/lever switch. Just two large post terminals on the switch. The battery POSITIVE cable goes 'DIRECTLY' to one side of the switch. Then from the other switch terminal a large cable goes to the STARTER. The NEGATIVE battery cable goes to the frame as GROUND. I just found my drawings from 1996, and this is how my drawings are showing such. *****Could it possibly be that it should be wired,,,,,,Battery POSITIVE cable directly to the starter, then NEGATIVE battery cable to the switch, and then from the other switch terminal, a separate cable to the frame as GROUND? I just read on line, NEVER hook the POSITIVE battery cable to a master switch? Then when the switch is in the OFF position, the ground is killed? Needless to say, WIRING is NOT my best talent. 10. Didn't some shops use a STEAM gun? I can't say if it would work on vinyl though, maybe. Dale in Indy
  11. A close friend owns a 1940 Plymouth pickup, and is looking for the JACK and TOOL KIT that is listed in the manual. Would this be the same as what was used for the 1940 Plymouth car? Help is most welcome. Even a picture would be of help, Dale in Indy P. S. Maybe someone could delete the last portion of the error in the title, THANK YOU.
  12. Interesting, I will review the install instructions of the switch, Thank You, Dale in Indy
  13. Nice,,,,,, with that said, lower windows look small, but I like lots of natural light when possible, and with security in mind. Not picking on ya, just my opinion. Dale in Indy
  14. The jack I use CAME with my new Vette, and it was designed for frame use. needless to say I DON'T crawl under my car, use jacks stands. Dale in Indy
  15. Yesterday while in the trunk removing two large radio/music amps I found this issue. Hidden under the hood is a large toggle master switch. I had it in the OFF position, but when I removed the 12v feed line it touched the case of the amp. It produced a small spark, of course that was a surprise. I haven't figured out WHY/HOW that would happen with all power OFF thru the master switch. No other line is hooked to the battery, just the positive, and neg cables. Could the amps hold some current after the power has been shut OFF? Dale in Indy
  16. I put a block of sandwiched wood that I made on the ground, then my scissors jack on such, and lift the frame. Needless to say my Limited has large wheel openings, but should work on a Riv. IMO In 22 plus years on the road, NO FLATS, just use this setup for any work that requires the wheels come off, like changing the battery, it is in a box behind the front right wheel. Dale in Indy
  17. I agree, Eastwood has such, I have used it. My post was a HINT that if it were my piece, I would treat the area, such may give you more time, and certainly won't hurt, IMHO. Dale in Indy
  18. What,,,,,,,NO BONDO,,hehe. It does look NICE. Dale in Indy
  19. Is anyone suggesting coating the area with something like UNDERCOAT, RUST PREVENTIVE COATINGS, or the likes? When you shut off or control the moisture, and air flow around a rusty piece, won't you gain a little more life? One thing my garage concrete floor has taught me, NEVER WASH YOUR CAR on such, then close up the garage with a wet floor. I have found that moisture moves up and causes more issues, IMO. Dale in Indy
  20. Thanks for posting the picture. Dale in Indy
  21. Dakota HAS lens colors that work well in the sunlight. My first setup was with each gauge a different color lens, some WERE hard to read in sun, so picked a color that works, and I IS A HAPPY CAMPER. Dale in Indy
  22. Man OH Man, you are doing some SERIOUS work, and GOOD work I might add. I did a lot of cardboard pattern work toooooooooo, whatever works, HUH? Dale in Indy
  23. Ben, A picture would help, maybe you could install a brass fitting, same size as the hose fitting that is leaking, coat the fitting threads with epoxy, then attach the hose in the fitting when epoxy has hardened. This is IF I understand the issue. Glad you found it B4 the install Dale in Indy
  24. I saw Dakota Digital when they first came out while attending the Lousiville show. Then 22 years ago I purchase a horizontal strip setup from them. They have performed wonderfully. They are GREAT folks to work with, PERIOD, and quality is first class, Dale in Indy
