  1. Yep, TEST/TRY it is always best, can save headaches down the road. I wish you well, Dale in Indy
  2. Good pic's. I will explore in detail what my block has to offer. Thanks for you effort, Dale in Indy
  3. I'm still wondering WHERE on the engine do install the line that will feed my after market Fram oil filter canister, and where does the return line go ? To remove the front fender, is such an HOUR job, or what's your estimate? Thanks, Dale in Indy
  4. I believe it is 'AXLE' You are probably like me, FAST TYPIST, and get ahead of yourself. Have a good one, Dale in Indy
  5. I wonder if the piller-less feature is CUSTOMER ADDED? I'm trying to see the advantage, from the picture it doesn't appear to offer much, the suicide door already gives you added in and out room, IMO. Dale in Indy
  6. Not to STIR up issues, I am thinking that if this were my car, I would give thought to discussing this issue with the person that sold me the car. I don't know all the details, or do I need to, but maybe you could have a adult discussion with the seller, and get a bit of a refund. You were TRULY mislead, maybe not on purpose, but mislead. I wish you well, Dale in Indy
  7. We all know IT'S TRUE, (we all have our ideas, and opinions), and such makes the hobby so much fun, FUN IS GOOD! Hey, I cut up a 41 Limited, I love it, and I DON'T have a single regret for building it my way. I have never been a fan of kits hanging on the back, but if the owner likes it, then I happy for him. Dale in Indy
  8. Yes, I agree, IF a person understands up front where he/she will be after the restore, THEN fine, wonderful. I have no objection to one doing his/her thing. BEEN THERE, DONE THAT. Dale in Indy
  9. As club members get OLDER, it is easy to see why FEWER are stepping up to take on all the work/headaches that go with such an undertaking. I noticed no one mentioned that they bought from the vendors, maybe too many lookers, few buyers. I have always wondered how a vendor could load, and unload so many parts that didn't sell and call it PROFITABLE. I know, ONE MAN'S JUNK, ANOTHER MAN'S TREASURE, maybe............ Ebay has had to cut into swap meet sales. Dale in Indy
  10. In my honest opinion, the owner is DREAMING when asking that price as RESERVE NOT MET. It appears that the rear fenders have lots of rust at the body mounting points too. NOT GOOD. Complete restore would cost MORE than what it would ever sell for. Limo's don't do well when it comes to selling such, IMO. If you did all the work YOURSELF it would STILL be difficult to not be upside down in its value. We will see, won't we. Dale in Indy
  11. If as you say, and the RPM's increases, then it, IS THE TRANSMISSION. Dale in Indy
  12. Hey, a special, can be very 'SPECIAL'. Not the end of the world, by a loooooong shot. Dale in Indy
  13. I was JUST that during HS, & college. Probably save a few from the law, and who knows about wrecks. Dale in Indy
  14. Just to tell you how much I know, well, when this thread started, I said to myself, WOW, this won't get much attention...................LOL. You see, I'm a NEVER HAD A SINGLE DRINK IN MY 74 PLUS YEARS GUY. I want to make my feelings clear, I have not a single issue with you all ENJOYING, needless to say if such doesn't infringe on mine and others health. Dale in Indy
  15. Does the engine RPM increase when it is having a hard time with the hill? It has been my experience that normally if it's a tranny problem you will notice the engine speed increases, meaning the tranny is SLIPPING. Dale in Indy
  16. I have taken a small pick hammer and hammered around PITS, and had some luck in moving metal over to fill the pit. Jewelery stores do this at times to fill low spots. But there again, TIME IS A FACTOR. Cast aluminum pieces often have sand pits, and hammering can help, SOMETIMES. Dale in Indy
  17. Sure, but WHEN he has something to say, I'm sure he WILL. Sometimes things take TIME.................. Dale in Indy
  18. That's true, one never knows if you DON'T ask/try. Just this weekend I sent a note to a Ebay seller, they wanted starting bid of $50.00, I offered $25.00, and they closed the auction and I bought it. It was a 1936 Buick grill emblem, I remove the enamel, and chrome and make art pieces out of them. The Buick script is solid copper, so cleans up real nice. I wish you well, I agree the 322 and standard shift tranny are a good find. Dale in Indy
  19. I would think they are stating, you must have the car on a flat level surface, before you remove, and re-install. If the body was in a twist, I'm sure the X member would be difficult to remove, and re-attach. To me, it's just good ole COMMON SENSE. Dale in Indy
  20. We had a 1952 Super, CORNET COPPER, and BEACH WHITE. Is that the color of the wagon? Everywhere we went folks would ask about it. Dale in Indy
  21. Has the top been chopped, or just camera angle? Too, tires look wider, have you upgraded suspension? That must be SEMI-GLOSS paint, huh? Dale in Indy
  22. Deleted by Smithbrother. Duplicate. Dale in Indy
  23. 46 grills show up on ebay OFTEN, I recently purchased a very nice one for $100.00, and saw a very nice one sell for less than $60.00 just last week, I am making a jam box out of mine, with large leather shoulder strap. I know, it sounds stupid, but it's fun, FUN IS GOOD! $550.00 is too much to pay, WAYto much to pay for one. Dale in Indy
  24. I am guessing it must be a 248 to fit in a V8 engine space? The tranny dip stick mount seems a bit unusual too, but maybe not. What are those four black boxes near the right side frame, AIR RIDE CONTROLLERS? Dale in Indy
  25. Yep, WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH SO MANY? Has Obama offered to buy all for a grand a piece? LOL Just kidding, MAYBE!. Dale in Indy
