Hopefully I’m not hi-jacking the post here with a one minute GM ad showing the 2023 Z06 Corvette with their new normally aspirated, flat plane crank, DOHC V-8 pavement ripper. GM still has heart ❤️ -

Fortunate to to attend Indy in the era when the roadsters battled it out with the rear-engined ‘funny cars’ (an AJ Foyt term used back in the 60’s). 🇺🇸 -

Dale Walksler, owner of the outstanding ‘Wheels Through Time’ museum in Maggie Valley, NC, passed away earler this week. He was a wonderful asset to preserving our motoring history, both 2 and 4 wheeled, all carefully displayed at his his museum. Dale lived his life by sharing his passion with any all, willingly and enthusiastically. There is much on the web about Dale, however this well done tribute shows him in his element relishing in his passion. https://youtu.be/9HYhlb99gA8 Gods speed Dale. https://www.themountaineer.com/obituaries/dale-walksler/article_7be729f6-6af7-11eb-9cfc-7bb6da31e56a.html

Besides the extra cost to purchase an EV and the larger carbon footprint, the greatest drawback by far will be what to do with all those hours spent waiting while one’s car is charging. It has already happened on a small scale - stick ups, theft and vandalism. So one thing EV owners can do is learn all over again what it takes to be ‘shotgun’ on a stage coach, just like in a John Wayne western, providing some level of ‘security’ while sitting around for hours in unfamiliar surroundings - a thugs favorite target. Yee-ha !! 🤠
