  1. Hello friends, just wanted to share some pictures of houston. I was very fortunate. Some people had up to 8 feet of water! I was able to save my 1924 dodge. The people who have come to help with our city have been wonderful including Houstonians!

I am in a quandry. a few weeks ago I bought this 1933 Dodge DO Rumbleseat Coupe. As I go throught it to see what I've got it gets more and more impressive. The straight flathead 8 runs fine and the only modification he made was to add an alternator for 12V. The seats are good the instruments work, the wheels are the correct 17" with the correct hubcaps, I have the correct title in my name, etc, etc. It shows wear because the guy was still driving it and originally bought it as a High School graduation present to himself in the early 50's. This is #191 according to the firewall plate of only 212 made.

Now here is the problem. This is clearly a car with a lot of historical and restoration potential and I really don't want to "mess it up" by not doing it RIGHT. What I really want is a 1933 Dodge Coupe Streetrod with a 340 Mopar V8 which can be a daily driver. The more I look at this one, I just can't modify it and don't want to restore it and I don't want to just let it sit there.

Anyone have a trade ? Suggestion ? I have a lot more pictures.

    Mulling it over in Texas

  4. I am finishing up a 7year restoration on my 52 with hydroelectric. All components are new with exception of pump motor solinoid and circuit breaker. I am getting 6 volts to switches, but only 3-4 volts to outboard switch terminals going to solinoids. Because of low voltage solinoids will not open. When I put direct current from battery they work! What could be the culprit? THANKS!

  5. For 1933 Plymouth PD Convertible Coupe.

Can someone tell me what kind of cover goes over the large hole in floorpan of rumble seat area?

I have seen a bowl shaped cover and also have heard of rings that have canvas stretched over them.

Does this hole provide easier access to the 3rd member?

Thanks for your help and input, Chris

Hello Chris, I live in houston and have a 33 pd convertible coupe. You are welcome to come by and look at mine. My cell is 713-503-0023

  6. I have a 1940 110 2 door convertible. I found a jack in the trunk. It is a green bottle jack about 6 in. tall that has a green hinged rod that you run jack up and down. It looks the period age. Is this the correct style jack for the car? Thanks!

  7. Did mine in 2008. Bought the material from Restoration Specialties, I believe. I'll check the material at the garage sometime in the next few days. Here is a picture of the top: www.flickr.com/photos/grandpanorth/2347998422/in/set-72157603831749231 You can see others of the project on that same site.

Thank you for the reply. Could you give me a call? I have a few more questions about your top installation. Thanks, john 713-503-0023.

  8. I am wanting to replace the top insert on my 32 dictator saint regis brougham 2 door. Someone has taken top off. I do not have any sample left to go by. I am trying to determine if it was 1) a course fabric 2) a fine thread fabric or 3) a worm-track vinyl. Lebarron bonney has sent me samples. I want to put back what car originally came with. Anyone might know what type of material? Thanks!

  9. Hello, this is my first posting! I have just acquired a remarkable essex. It is a completely original unrestored car with just over 8,000 miles! It is in such wonderful condition that most people think it was restored. I have never owned an essex. It has an exhaust leak. I need exhaust gaskits and a flange nut that attaches the pipe to the manifold. Maybe someone can help! Thanks. john d.
