  1. Go on Ebay, I saw a real 66 GS for sale their a day ago. I think auction was still going. Good luck!
  2. Going to part out a 65 Riv that I was trying to save, but nobody wanted to pony up $3400 for it. Has a good running 64 401/ST400(64 trans) in it. Has lots of good parts including a complete set of clamshells w/ linkage. Will post pics later. PM me with wants and I will send pics and prices to you(please include your email). I am also going to post a bunch of stuff in the Buick Buy/Sell forum for really nice individual parts that I am going to sell, as well. If anybody decides they want the whole car, I would also consider $2900 and I keep the finned rocker trim. Would also do a deal for the roller if somebody needed a complete parts car minus motor for your project. Yes, I have the title. Thanks! DQD
  3. Ok, the good news is that the fix for this should be fairly simple from a wiring stand point. Here is where you start. You mentioned you had to cut wires to remove the old harness. Start by looking for a big red wire that will go down towards the firewall/drivers side of the car. In theory, you cut the single hot lead that went into the radio and then went back to the coil. If you pull the panel off the bottom right of your gauge cluster and look up towards the ignition switch(you may have to remove the switch, it drops down from behind), you will see the large red wire coming off it. That is the main power lead. Think of it like this, whoever cut into your harness cut the red wire and extended off of it for the radio power. All you are doing is reconnecting the red wire to itself, so you are only looking for the cut ends of one wire, same color red, and putting them back together. I am not there to look at it in person, but this is probably the scenario you are looking at. Again, pictures will help a lot. Don't worry, your problem is not huge, just going to be a pain in the ass because there is not a lot of access to the area without taking the gauge cluster out(not fun). We are here to help, let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck!
  4. Something's not right. I have had dashes out of a lot of Riviera's and the ignition wire is no where near the radio. Can you post a picture of what you cut out? Did you verify no power at the coil?
  5. If you need a set of deluxe door shells, I have a couple sets that I would sell. 1965RivGS is right, to try to adapt is going to be a huge pain in the ass. I will post pics later of both shells so you can see the difference.
  6. To my knowledge, nobody is making a new one. Rare Parts is rebuilding originals, but they are requiring that you send them your core before they ship out. I forgot how much, maybe $250-300
  7. Hi, if you are talking about the heater bypass, I have an extra one I could sell you. They are hard to find these days. PM me your email and I will send pics.
  8. I installed a set on a customer's 65 Riv that I think were Soft Seal brand. Total junk. Nothing like the originals. Originals have a metal inner with metal retaining clips. If anyone knows where to get a quality replacement that is like the originals, I would buy some also.
  9. I can't remember who did Rob's, but I saw his in person and they are exceptionally nice! They look better than new. Will give him a call this week and see who he used.
  10. Hi Buddy, I have what you need. PM me your email address and I will send pics later tomorrow.

Comes with courtesy light and glove box light, as shown. $75 shipped in the 48. If you need a glove box door to go with it, I have a couple of good used ones I will sell, as well, let me know.
  12. Selling an impossible to find NOS 1965 Buick Riviera Glove Box Housing Surround w/ Trim & Complete Courtesy Light. This has never been mounted or used, condition is as new. Selling for $265 shipped in the 48.
  13. Selling a NOS new in the box part # 1993645 Buick Switch Pitch Kickdown Switch fits 65-66 SP400 trans only. Not many NOS left ones left. Selling for $250 shipped. I have a couple of 1x4bbl intake switch brackets if you need one, add $30.
  14. I agree, 150%! I am having exactly that experience in South Florida. Nobody knows how to work on old cars anymore or does not want to take the time to learn(not cost effective). I am getting more calls everyday to work other people's cars and I know a handful of shops left that do decent work and they are slammed. Price per hour is going up. It's hovering around $120hr currently, but foresee it going up due to demand.
  15. That's funny you guys were part of the Mark VIII crew. I was part of the Mark VII crew. I used to have a white/tan '91 that ran hard. Had the rare ASC wide BBS wheels(16x8.5) and I built a killer 302 that went 12.9 on 87oct, daily driver. That car won a lot of races, some of the locals still yalk about it. Great car, I miss it a lot.
  16. You can try Vinylx-blue bottle, made by Lexol. Good stuff, but won't work miracles. Worth a shot though, it is the best vinyl protectant I have found.
  17. Part number on the box is 1 4434951, part number on the latch is 5716564 and comes with spring 5715314. Let me know if you need pictures.
  18. Give me a couple hours and will post it. I have an NOS one in the box I can get the # off of.
  19. No, not an exaggeration. To do bore/hone, balance, pistons pressed onto rods, resize rods for ARP rod bolts, polish and/or turn crank, deck block, machine for screw in oil galley plugs, cam bearing install, freeze plug install, deck heads, new iron guides installed, serdi valve job, set the height on the valves, check and equalize the spring pressures, etc. I deleted the post because I really didn't feel like going on and on about it, but since you asked there it is. Russ and Tom are the guru's, but I doubt very many are rebuilding to this level. I build each motor like it's for me. You can do cheaper, but it's not going to be better for the $$.
  20. If your's a real Gran Sport with a 425 dual quad, you will not have a 90 degree fitting on the fuel pump. Both outlets on the pump will face straight down., this is the correct original dual quad pump. TA performance sells them. Google them, they are one of the top Buick shops.
  21. If your motor ends up being totally fubar'd, I do have a built and done 65 401 shortblock I am selling. Yes, I back up my work and can provide references from those on this board and others, all with Nailheads. Let me know if I can be of help. Thanks and good luck!
  22. Clarke's has the 3 blade ones too.
  23. You did good! Nice car! I may a contact for you if you have some Rolls/Bentley's you want to sell. PM me and we'll talk.
