  1. great car! I'm over towards Albany but really broke with my Hudson not done. My prediction is it will sell quickly.
  2. Yeah, chrome costs bigtime and the engine is a crapshoot. But this is a solid goodlooking car for someone who dosen't mind a little grease under their fingernails and enjoys prewar style. On Facebook Marketplace in Rochester, New York with many photos. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/699629208362499/?ref=browse_tab&referral_code=marketplace_top_picks&referral_story_type=top_picks1
  3. Condition Used - Good "Several parts car’s various conditions. V8 and V12 engines, side mount fenders 1000’s of parts." Lists $1000 as price - could be a placeholder In Fort edward, NY (north of Albany on Hudson River) https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1510024786481928/?ref=browse_tab&referral_code=marketplace_general&referral_story_type=general&tracking={"qid"%3A"-3520125989194950318"%2C"mf_story_key"%3A"991860323668468648"%2C"commerce_rank_obj"%3A"{\"target_id\"%3A991860323668468648%2C\"target_type\"%3A6%2C\"primary_position\"%3A3%2C\"ranking_signature\"%3A403608337481990144%2C\"commerce_channel\"%3A501%2C\"value\"%3A0.00029484231333934%2C\"upsell_type\"%3A3523%2C\"candidate_retrieval_source_map\"%3A{\"6741761045888476\"%3A3002%2C\"6852113208154361\"%3A3001%2C\"6952443751488940\"%3A3002%2C\"6607125479365866\"%3A801%2C\"6373567132742241\"%3A3001%2C\"6607371389383484\"%3A3001}%2C\"grouping_info\"%3Anull}"%2C"lightning_feed_qid"%3A"-3520127294820379421"%2C"lightning_feed_ranking_signature"%3A"403608337481990144"%2C"ftmd_400706"%3A"111112l"}
  4. On the other hand, I have a 1951 Commodore 6 that spent its first 50 years in Montana. There has not been a single stuck bolt, nut, or screw and not a spot of anything beyond a spot of mild surface rot on that car. It puts a lot of California cars to shame.
  5. Quite a tsunami of negativity rolling in here, apparently without anyone bothering to look at the cars. I’d be interested to read an actual observer’s sketch of conditions and selling prices.
  6. right. I don't mean power-assisted. Just one that can be pivoted by hand.
  7. Gathering information for retro-fitting a passenger side mirror on a 1950s sedan, in this case a 1951 Hudson. Not so worried about the look as much as being able to change lanes in city traffic. Wondering if anyone has a solution that works well? Also, has anyone found an adjustable mirror rather than a fixed-position one that works?
  8. good news is that it didn't break in half when he hauled it with a chain. I think its worth a look underneath before dismissing it.
  9. If you know of a car like this in comparable condition for $2500, I'm there with the cash. I don't think it's nearly that overpriced.
  10. I'd say roll those dice! This is a good-looking car and it's generally easier to deal with engine problems than bad sheet metal. Given the engine mystery there should be some negotiation on the price, but it could be something as simple as a valve issue. p
  11. Nick consistently finds nice largely original cars to sell at fair prices

  13. I have a 1955 Chevrolet shop manual in microfilm purchased from Helm Inc, GM’s subcontractor circa 1974. It’s on the original metal can and looks to be in good shape. Free to anyone who’s willing to send me $3 for postage. Send me an email if interested. peter sefton alexandria va
