  1. OBTW: THIS ENTIRE AACA FORUM SEEMS LIKE A BIT OF A PAIN IN THE BUTT TO NAVIGATE. IS ANYTHING IN IT ORGANIZED ALONG ALPHA-NUMERIC CONCEPTS. FOR EXAMPLE: TYPE IN 1927 BUICK CAM GEAR AND UP POP THE LAST 25 ENTIES OR SOMETHING LIKE.. MAYBE I'M GRIPING AS I DON'T REALLY KNOW HOW TO USE THIS COMPLICATED SYSTEM. KERRY IN WARM NORTH FLORIDA
  2. DIBARLAW, IF YOU WOULD LET ME KNOW EXACTLY WHO TO CALL REGARDING THAT STEAM OIL. IT JUST SEEMS THAT THAT HEAVY AN OIL WOULD MAKE SHIFTING DARNED NEAR IMPOSSIBLE. I KNOW MY 1969 JAG E-TYPE WITH MERE 90 WEIGHT IS A BEAR TO SHIFT UNTIL IT WARMS UP. ISN'T THERE ANY OTHER ALTERNATIVE LIKE A SYNTHETIC MIX OR SOMETHING? SO THE 600 GOES IN THE DIFF, THE GEAR BOX AND STEERING BOX. I JUST CANNOT SEEM TO WRAP MY POINTED HEAD AROUND THIS CONCEPT AND THEN FILLING ANY GEAR CASE WITH OIL THAT IS VIRTUALLY SOLID AT 40 DEGREES....
  3. THANKS. NOW THAT 600 WEIGHT OIL, IT'S ONLY USED IN THE REAR END, RIGHT? I WONDER WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF GOOD OL' 90 EIGHT WERE PUT IN INSTEAD? SURELY, 600 WEIGHT CAN'T BE IN THE GEAR BOX. THE THING JUST WOULDN'T SHIFT. THINK ABOUT ANY COLD DAY (I'M ORIGINALLY FROM ERIE,PA, SO I KNOW COLD) WITHA REGULAR WEIGHT OIL IN A STANDARD BOX. TAKES A GOOD LONG WHILE IN JANUARY FOR THAT STUFF TO LOOSEN UP. WHY IN THE WORLD DID THEY PUT 600 WEIGHT IN THE DIFFERENTIAL? WHEN I DRAINED IT, I THOUGHT IT WAS PURE TAR. JANUARY TAR. IF I REALLY NEED IT, LET ME KNOW. DOES THIS AACA FORUM ALLOW US TO TALK SIMPLY VIA EMAIL? MINE IS LPHFARM@AOL.COM. DON'T WANNA BREAK ANY RULES NOW... THANK YOU, KERRY PLEASE DO LET ME KNOW WHERE TO ORDER THE OIL. SHIPPING MIGHT KILL ME CLEAR DOWN HERE IN NORTH FLORIDA. BUT THEY DO DO A LOT OF DRILLING IN LOUISIANA...
  4. IT'S HARD FINDING PARTS FOR A '27 BUICK MASTER. WHERE DO YOU GET 600 WEIGHT OIL????
  5. FOR 1927 BUICK. NEED FIBER CAM GEAR (MASTER SERIES) CLUTCH PARTS. FULL TIME MECHANIC HELPER. WILL SUPPLY THE BEER ! LPHFARM@AOL.COM WRITE KERRY
  6. HI LEON! I HAVE A QUICK QUESTION: CAN YOU RUN A STANDARD SIX WITHOUT THE SPARK PLUG COVER? I RECALL SEEING 4 LITTLE HOLES THAT SEEM TO GO INTO THE CRANKCASE BEHIND WHERE THE COVER WOULD MOUNT. WOULDN'T DIRT/CRUD GET INTO THE ENGINE? THANK YOU, KERRY AT LPHFARM@AOL.COM
  7. DO YOU HAVE AN EXTRA SPARK PLUG COVER FOR A '27 STANDARD SIX? THANKS, KERRY
  8. I NEED A SPARK PLUG COVER FOR A 1927 STANDARD SIX. I THINK THE ENGINE IS 273 CUBIC INCHES. PLEASE WRITE KERRY AT LPHFARM@AOL.COM
  9. CAN WIRE WHEELS BE FITTED TO A 1927 STANDARD SIX CHASSIS?
  10. I'D LIKE TO DITCH THE ARTILLERY WHEELS ON MY 1927 BUICK BOAT TAILED "ROADSTER". THE CAR HASN'T EVEN BEEN DELIVERED TO ME YET FROM THE HIGH DESERT OF NEVADA! BUT IT'S ALL COMPLETE. HAS BEEN IN A BARN FOR 60+ YEARS. "GREAT GRAND DAD STARTED THE CONVERSION A LONG TIME AGO" LOOKS PRETTY COOL TO MY 50 YEAR OLD EYES. KERRY
  11. WONDERING IF THERE ARE ANY WIRE WHEELS SUITABLE FOR USE ON A 1927 BUICK STANDARD SIX. IF I CAN REPLACE MY WOODEN ARTILLERY WHEELS WITH WIRES, THAT'S WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR. YES, I'M A D.A. ! KERRY
