  1. Would anyone know how the engine is installed in a 40 special after it has been painted and detailed? Looks like I'm going to have to remove some bolts some where. Thanks Rich

  5. By different do you mean the auto crank needs a pilot bushing or is there something else?

  7. What has always worked for me is to loosen the pp bolts so they are just hanging on. Slide the trans. in and the disc. will move to line up. Then tighten the trans bolts, then the pp bolts. Works every time and you don't need a spare pilot shaft. Rich

After years of competing at the highest levels of competition at the the Mopar Nationals and going through the intense stress of being judged in my class with like cars all near me I now have some Buicks which I love. I would like to offer this advice. Park your car wherever you can, close the door and get out and enjoy the show. Your blood pressure will thank you. Rich

  13. The tires are just a set I had. Probably 40%. I would say for your trip it could use tires and new heater hoses. Everything else is OK. Rich
  14. ind not run since 71.New or rebuilt brakes ,carb, waterpump, fuelpump, m/c w/c RADIATOR ($675) after market air from way back. Commpresor turns doesnt blow cold. Starts easy runs great. All windows roll up down . decent usable interior in blue, white, silver with new dk blue carpet.All original parts .This would be a fine first time cruiser. $5500 See pics on Portland Oregon Craigslist Dont really know. Ive only driven to work and back a couple of times. Maybe 100 miles total since I got it running. Richard

  17. I have a 55 century 4 dr hardtop that will be for sale at the PIR april swap meet. Solid car with p/s decent usable interior in blue white silver with new correct carpet. New gas tank,sending unit, rebuilt carb,fuel pump by pro shop, ALL windows roll up down in out like they should. No body damage ,was owned by local auto shop from new.Not run since 1971. Starts easy runs well. I still am working on a brake issue which will be done here shortly. would like $5000

  21. I have a buddy that owns a glass shop in Vancouver WA and his advice (and required by law as he is a glasier) is to have the window urethaned in then put the inner mouldings in. Rich

  24. Well I found out that it is an over the counter power brake add on done in the 50s by the original owner because he was towing a trailer. Looks like it sez bendix on it and draws it's vacuum from a 'T' into the dual action fuel pump. Currently I am rebuilding the MC and should have it going by this weekend. Rich
