  3. All three of my cruiser cars,53 super restomod, 52Ford f1 and 40 special have150 amp powermaster alternators and optima red tops. I use the optima battery tender for maintaining. The ford and 40 have 6V starters and they zip to life. No problems. The 40 spins so fast that you can crank it in low and by the time it fires you can shift to second. All 3 had new wiring front to back. It's really the best way to go.

  4. On my 40 sedan the factory rear light sockets were ok but the terminal part was destroyed. I went to u pullit and clear in the back row of gm cars was a 67 pontiac catalina. looked in the trunk and the snap in taillight sockets were there. Cut the wires long and snapped them out. Got home and they snapped right in to the 40s housings.

  5. In 1973 I was stationed at Charleston air force base SC and had just bought a new 73 dodge dart 2dr 318/3 speed no air. The local Montgomery Ward was selling under dash air units so I bought one installed for $49 .At that time I think I was making about $200 a month  so that was quite a bit out of pocket. Thanks to a working wife or I wouldn't have been able to buy it. A/C was needed because of the high temps and humidity there.

  6. With your setup as is you will need a front and rear vertical steel channel. front will have to be fabricated because it was on the original wing window frame but it's not difficult as you can buy channel material repro.then the u channel fuzzies can go in as 1 piece from lower front vertical up and over door frame and down to bottom of rear vertical. You will need your original lower window lift channel but may have to recenter the glass because of no wings. I wouldn't go back to wing windows, the fabrication involved would be mind numbing.Just get into it and you'll see how it goes. I did my stock 40 special 4dr sedan took my time and it came out better than the factory did. Windows roll up and down like new very quiet.
