the stock 65 GS in my opinion is near perfection (except maybe the tail lights should have been kept in the 63 64 location)
-
just no mechanics around these days to do the work, too bad, so many cars could be saved and so many people want these classic cars. This 63 does not have air though so would be even harder to place in a new home
-
they were certainly not bright from the factory, I have several nos covers I keep on display, but the turbines DO polish up nicely and still look tasteful. Great for a concours or show car

popular classic cars prices are pulled up as new car prices rise, on line purchasing has become popular so hence many potential buyers, there are NO restoration mechanics out there, so a ready to go car commands a 20% premium, and with all of the classic car shows out on the internet, seems to be the rage to own one. Finally JUST like you say, it costs so so much to restore one, that purchasing one for less than the 100 thousand dollar restoration cost (say) is a bargain

wow that is a loaded boat!!!!

I think that we should all start showing our window stickers! I will take a pic of my original one tonight and post tomorrow

I have two left and right extras, but am too much of a riviera parts hoarder to part with them! (LOL)

boy oh boy, that red leather interior is QUITE fabulous, too bad they did not continue leather in the later years.
-
make them work! A rare accessory, and fun to operate for the show crowd. I added them to my Dad's car, got the plates from Gene and had them rechromed. They may have a problem overcoming the rubber seal and that is why they do not close all of the way, you could try lubricating the seal with silicone GREASE and see if it makes a difference, if not it is easy to remove the door skin and re sequence the gear

more the ac vents, they are actually part of the panel, so you cannot just drill holes in your stock dash plates. Have to make sure that the panels you purchase are as nice as your original non ac panels. When I installed factory ac in my Dad's pristine 64 i wound up purchasing 9 sets until I found comparable

good guy am very sorry, we are all getting old now. To think that I was only 12 years old when my Dad and I bought our 64 and am now 70. My Dad has passed on, and I will too in the not so distant future, but the Riv will still be here. Larry's "stuff" is still around, and hopefully will go to good homes who appreciated it as much as Larry

sure is a good buy, but I am surprised that the seller did not know the difference between 63 64 and 1965
-
definitely four new springs and bilsteins.
-
these cars are just way to valuable to put a cheap plastic dash cover on them. PLUS as previously stated, the covers warp in the sun. Best to have the dash reskinned at Just Dashes. Well worth the investment
-
well I know that 64 was the first year for required front seat belts, and they were very different than these as they were no longer an accessory but rather standard, So figure that the ones pictured were a pre 64 standard option for all GM cars
-
the very easiest way would be to cut a piece out of a donor. That area is complicated to fabricate. MOST parts cars will not be rusted here so chances of finding a very good piece are very good! Gene should have one

Should I put a '66 nailhead engine in a '67 (instead of the factory 430)?

That was a beautiful car when it was new! -
so nice to find someone who does a great job and takes pride in their work. However one by one, these craftsmen are retiring or dying off with no one to replace them!!

Prior owner searching to reunite with 1965 Buick Riviera

if you know the ID number I can check to see if it is currently registered in the United States -
do not know, have never checked. You could call Lloyd Mats and ask

If you have the id number you can hire a title clerk in that state to research it -
I had my Aurora slot car set for years including my pit kit carrying case with two rivieras in it (turquoise) I kept the pit kit for years until someone stole it, really hurt my feelings. Notice my Lionel 1/32 Riviera.
