  1. Simon, Join Brass Buicks in Yahoo Groups. Its free. Go into Files and there is a lot of information on the 13 Model 25
  2. Talbotracer, Yes that is the Montana car. I did see it for sale recently in Hemmings. Derek, If you get to see that 13 coming up for auction, can you take some better photoes.
  3. Simon, Ask this question in the Buick Pre- War section of this Forum. You will get more reply,s. That looks like the car sold by Rainsfords a while back, but It isn,t in his cars currently for sale.
  4. Very nice Don. I like that screw, so you can adjust the angle of the gear box for easy alignment. I will be removing the gearbox on my 1920 soon, so I will be copying your design.
  5. Lift the back of the car so you are able to roll the whole rear axle backwards. Remove the tires so there is more clearance between the wheel and the rear fender. so you don,t need to lift the car so high. Undo the the saddle bolts that hold the springs to the rear axle housing. remove the clevis pins for the brake rods. and roll the whole axle backwards. Sounds easy. Larry ( Dibarlaw ) has done this more recently than me and will be able to give you more advice.
  6. Kyle, If your going to cast some impellors I would like to order one as I need one for my 25 Master.
  7. Original unrestored cars are becoming popular now, and people will pay more for one in good condition, which is evident in this case. For me this is a hobby. I don,t keep a record of what I spend. I don,t play golf. I don.t smoke. I don,t go on overseas holidays. Any of these other pursuits could easily add up to more than many of us spend on our cars But, if I was buying another car I would prefer to buy this one for $8500. Even though it does have an Isuzu engine. He still has the original engine, which could be easily put back in.
  8. It jumped from $9,999 to $13,700 in last 4 seconds of auction.
  9. I am sure most people on this forum have bought on Ebay.. But for those not familiar with how it works, its probably good to start on a low priced item to get comfortable with the bidding process. I bought this light for my 1912 a few weeks back as I only had one headlight. It has taken two years to find a light, so I now have a matching pair. The previous high bid was $149. I placed a bid of $300 but the highest bid came up as $150. If somebody had placed a bid higher than $300 it would have jumped up to $301. I got the light for $150 even though my high bid was $300. In cases where I really want an item I will be ready to increase my high bid 10 or 5 seconds before the auction ends as this is the time when prices can change very quickly, jumping to peoples high bids.
  10. What a spectacular looking car. Just love those early 30,s Buicks
  11. Terry,, Anything is possible. You learn new things on this Forum every day, It says Vin Number ( don,t know if that is engine or frame number) 355397
  12. Looks a pretty nice, complete, original E49, On Ebay. Location Pennsylvania, Ph 724 984 1659 There have been a few 1918,s up for sale recently
  13. Morgan, What caused those pins to shear. Were the yoke rollers ceased, Is there wear or flat spots in the yoke rollers causing them not to turn, or do you think the end pieces became loose and jammed, which may have been the case as JB weld had previously been used.
  14. Don. It is 4" from flange to flange on a 24 six cylinder engine I have.
  15. Nostalgic Reflections Phone 509 - 226 - 3522 or their web site on Ebay
  16. I saw a cowl plate for a 25 ( important ) on U.S Ebay a short time back, new remanufactured, but can,t find it at the moment. It wasn,t cheap.
  17. On U.S Ebay $129 starting bid. I would bid for it but it,s $104 shipping to Aust. Mark, 2 3/8" across threads.
  18. Haven,t seen one like this before. Happy New Year to every one on the Forum. But you still have one more sleep in the U.S.
  19. Sligermachine Not sure if this is what your after. But the seat base is raised 4" above the floor at the front.
  20. Thanks for the photo,s. Love to see cars coming out of an old garages after a long period of hibernation . It looks like a lot of the wood is in good condition. Try and keep as much of the original wood in tact as possible.
  21. Stuart, Are those the 24" wheels that were on the Gumtree add. I have a set of 22" Ash wire wheels for my 25 Master, but they are in poor condition. There,s a 21" wheel in Victoria at the moment for $250, Those four cylinder wheels are advertised for $1500. I have a number of hubs that look identical, but some fit the 22" wheels and others the wheels won,t quite fit on. Maybe the hubs that don,t fit are four cylinder or Standard car hubs. I don,t feel like buying the $1500 wheels then find they are the wrong size. Let me know if you decide to sell the 24" wheels. Rod
  22. I forgot to say, the outer lock cap is Aluminium
  23. What would be the best way to clean and polish these Ash Wheel caps so I don,t damage the lettering. The outer caps are Aluminium.
  24. Vintage, The car in the top picture looks like a 1919 to me. The 1919 had more hood louvres than the 1918. 1918 had three hood hold down latches where as 1919 had two. Also 1919 had a round ignition/ light switch on the dash, where as 1918 had a rectangular switch with pull out buttons. the 1919 tourer is Model H -45. The 1926 is a Standard model two door coach Model 26 - 20. Has he decided on a price for the cars yet.
