  1. Hey, Thanks for all the kind words guys, they mean a lot. From Nebraska, Andrew
  2. So if one were to want to put on a car show in Nebraska how would you go about doing this? I would like to try and organize one for a non-profit organization and also for the Boy Scout troop that I am associated with and maybe for my old high school. So....saying that all of these possible candidates would be interested in a car show are there things that I have to do legally to have one i.e. insurence and the such?? It would be a lot of fun to try and put one together and I do believe that they would be well attended with the right amount of advertising. It anyone has any thoughts they would
  3. I believe that "Custom Cab" refers to the special chrome looking trim inside the cab of your truck. Hope this helps. Also try 1961 - 1966 F-100 & Larger F-Series Trucks - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums for more information on old 1960s Fords. From Nebraska, Andrew.
  4. Just looking to see how many people on here are of the younger generation of the old car hobby like me. How did you get started in the hobby? (Dad, Grandpa, Friend) How old were you when you bought your first old car? What cars are of greatest interest to you? (Brass, Pre-war, Post-war, Classic, Muscle) What are the old cars that you own? Here is a little about myself. I am 19 years old and have been collecting cars for 2 years. The person that got me started in the car hobby is my great grandfather. His name was Richard (Dick) Hornung of Cheney, Nebraska. Maybe some of you older folks knew

  6. I posted a thread last night that I purchased the car from my uncle. I love the feeling of buying an old car!! It will be a fun car and a great addition to the collection. Thanks for everything from Nebraska, Andrew.
  7. Well, after negotiating with my uncle we were able to come to a price and I am the proud new owner of the 1948 Plymouth Deluxe Coupe. I know that it will take a lot of time and money to get it back on the road but it is worth it to save another old car. I cannot wait to go and pick it up. I feel that half the adventure in buying an old car is going to get it. I also feel that it will be a great addition to the collection and I cannot wait to get the car back on the road and also take it to shows. I know all you fine people on this site are full of knowledge and I plan to use this forum as a re
  8. My great uncle has a 1948 Plymouth that he is wanting to sell. The people who sold it to him said that the timing belt was broken. It turns out that the valves were stuck in the engine. Now the engine is stuck and all torn apart and he wants to sell it. The body is all straight and original and there is no damage that I could see. There is no rust on the body but the floor pans would need to be replaced. The glass is all good that I can tell. Also it would need new tires. The one downside to the car is the engine as it would take a lot to rebuild. What do you guys think? And what do you think

  10. About 2 weeks ago i was on ebay looking at all the old cars as usual and stumbled upon a classified add for a 1959 Edsel Ranger. Seeing as it was close to me I messaged the guy who had it for sale to call me to talk about the car. He called that very night and I set up a time for my dad, brother and I to go out and look at it the next day. Now when I get car buying fever I always try to find as much info on the car that I am interested in and I love any old car and if its a good deal I will always take a look and inquire about it. We drove out to the little town of Mead, Nebraska from Lincoln

  13. What is the best way to start a 1928 Dodge Victory 6 four door Sedan. I have had the car running before but I cannot seem to get it running again. If the Coil gets hot to the touch could that be the problem??? I cleaned the spark plugs and tried using starter fluid. My question is what is the proper procedure. Thanks for the help from Nebraska, Andrew.
  14. A friend of mine has a 1926 Ford Model T that we were going to try and get running today. It had not been run for two years and the tank was almost full so we desided to drain the tank of the bad gas. There is lots of rust in there and varnish buildup in the tank so we need to clean it out. We were wondering how to drop the tank on the car. It is under the dash and cowl and it is being real stuburn. We took the nuts off the bolts that are the straps what else needs to be done??? Does anyone have any tricks as to how to get that gas tank out of the car??? Is there any way to clean the tank whil
