  1. OK. Does that mean that the AACA judges will deduct points fro P225R75x15 tires? If so, what is the point deduction? Yes Diamond Back Tires has the 225R-15 tires but they are over $200. Also only available by mail-order. It is difficult to believe that the judging is that particular on this item.
  2. Here is the option form. You are correct.
  3. Here you are. It has 78000 miles, original interior, vinyl top, paint and chrome in 1985.
  4. I have received the tech bulletins from Buick which show the availability effective January 31, 1967. This Information is courtesy of Tom Mooney, ROA Technical Advisor. The question was posted on the ROA forum whether AACA judging would require a particular brand of tire, ie. a brand available in 67. What say you?
  5. Tom, I have been a member of ROA (#11113) for about 15 years, and AACA for 25 years. I really appreciate your efforts. That is exactly what I need to prove the tires were available. I am sure some other 67 Riviera owners, and 67 Buick owners will also be glad to have this information. My car is ready for showing at AACA meets except for new tires, so I will proceed with the purchase of new radials. Thanks to all forum members for the replies. Maybe an AACA judge can answer Ed Raner's question. I don't think they are that particular----will check it out.

  7. My date code is--- 11C -- 3rd week of November. I don't know why they won't accept the several documents I have. I have requested any information available from the AACA Library and Research center. They might come up with something. I recently bought a sales brochure for 1967 Buicks which only lists bias tire sizes. The brochure was certainly published pre-production. Thanks for your replies.
  8. I have the AMA (Automobile Manufacturers Association) Specifications documents published and revised 12-15-1966. This lists optional tire sizes for 1967 models as 8.85-15 and 225R-15. The guys on the AACA forum say I need documentation published by Buick for AACA judging approval. Is there anything in your archives that would support the availability of Radial tires for 1967 Rivieras? Perhaps a sales brochure, or dealer service bulletin? I need to replace my tires and would like to use radials, but would also like to show the car at AACA meets without losing a lot of points on tires. BTW-- the AACA judging manual mentions that some manufacturers, namely Buick and Oldsmobile, offered radials in 1967. The BCA judging manual lists radials for 1967. Hemmings magazine "The Smooth Operator" August 2014 explains that after January 1967, 225-R15 tires were available. With all these indications that radials were indeed available in 1967, does anyone have any Buick literature listing that radials were available?
  9. OK. Does anyone have Buick Documentation showing radial tires available in 1967?. Where would I go to find such document?
  10. I have the Automobile Manufacturers Association (AMA) Specifications publication issued 9/1/66 which lists the only tire size available as 8.85-15 bias ply. I have the revised specifications dated 12-15-66 which shows 225R-15 radials available. My question is -- will the AACA judges accept this revised specifications document when judging my 1967 Riviera with radial tires?
  11. Thanks for the replies. I found a seller on Ebay, YJ RACING PARTS. They sell seven colors of silicone vacuum hose. Sold by the foot, so you don't have to buy more than needed. Price is $.99/ft for 1/8" id.. I will try them out soon.
  12. Is there a source for color coded 1/8" Vacuum hose? I need to replace all hoses on my 67 Riviera with automatic climate control. I have found some at Summit Racing, but not all colors. It uses red, white, blue, green, yellow, orange, purple, brown, pink, black, chartreuse, and maroon. Any Help? Thanks.
  13. I understand that all 1967 Rivieras came with non-interlocking type engine mounts. My non interlocking mounts show significant separation of rubber from metal. I can send mine to be rebuilt or I can buy a pair of interlocking type mounts that I believe came off of a 67. My question is -- will the interlocking type fit my "67 430 engine? Thanks for any advice. These are the interlocking mounts, I don't have a photo of my non interlocking mounts.
  14. I have used it in all my old cars as well as surge brakes on trailers. When I clean the system and rebuild everything, I automatically install a GM style switch on the brake pedal. It is usually not too hard to engineer a bracket. I have found that the pressure switches do not last long---even the ones that claim to be OK for silicone fluid.
  15. I checked out the link. They really look good. Will be ordering one soon. Thanks for the input. I don't know how I would have found that site otherwise.
