  1. Andy, Good idea. I will do the same. I will take some pics. It is a rebodied '22 4cyl Buick. Most of the good parts are in boxes right now. Ebay is so good.
  2. WOW Andy. You are the man!!!! I have redesigned a couple of aspects of the 1914 Buick speedster I am building based on the very detailed pictures of your car. Do you find that your seat height is comfortable? Dwight
  3. For an original look, you may want to try to clean it using Quick-Glow and a buffer or one of those microfiber balls on a drill. Chrome doesn't rust. The rust you see comes from cracks and pits that extend through the chrome into the steel. If you clean off all of the rust "stains" you may be surprised how it looks. The pits or rough areas will still be there, but they will be metal colored or black. The Quick-Glow has some sort of wax in it so it keeps the steel from rusting again right away.
  4. I think I have a few. I will check tomorrow.
  5. Nice Joe. Thanks! Different ride from a Model T. In the Buick there is less side to side movement.
  6. Jon, Sorry, I misread your entry. The tag # is 2136016 9786D Dwight
  7. Thanks Mark, Here is a good test article for the carbs Mark has posted Carbking also sells them. http://dmacweb.com/documentation/tech%20docs/Zenith-updated.pdf http://www.thecarburetorshop.com/Aftermarketupdraftcarburetors.htm
  8. Hi Frank, I am not an expert. I am barely a novice at this.. Carbking is the expert, and hopefully, he will chime in. He has recommended Zenith + Stromberg updrafts as replacements for Marvels. He also recommends getting one that was designed for as close an engine to yours (cu. inch) as possible. Although mine was designed for a 248 and my engine is a 257, it is pretty close. Plus, a slight variation of this carb (venture size?) was made for a 41, 42, 43 GMC Truck with a 257. You will have to make or buy an adapter, since the Marvel flange is offset 45 degrees.
  9. If you ever thought about swapping out your much beloved Marvel for something less challenging, this is your chance. This guy has a bunch of different NOS Zenith updrafts for sale. I bought one of these. It was for a GMC '41 6 cyl 248. I think it will be a pretty good match for my '30 6cyl 257. They are just as they appear in the pictures. http://www.ebay.com/itm/262116173741?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  10. The one on ebay has a rear pedal kick start. I had forgotten about that.
  11. Buy a spare unit to keep in the car for when it breaks.
  12. When you want to load picutres, click on "More Reply Options." At the bottom of the box. Then you can load pics from computer files.
  13. Tommy, Thanks for offering the parts on our website. We really appreciate it. Dwight
  14. If you are going to the 1916 meet, PLEASE take me along!
  15. They should both be right behind the front fenders. Sorry, I couldn't resist.
  16. Nice work. Excellent craftsmanship. Congrats! Dwight
  17. Pretty sure it is OEM Corvette Muncie. Corvette guys would know for sure and what years it fits.. http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/z4gAAOSwN81WEF4i/s-l1600.jpg
  18. I will look also. I have a '22 4cyl. Buick How about some pics of the speedster?
  19. He may be a good locksmith, but he is a lousy business person. An astute business person would express his empathy with the customer that something like this happened, cancel the $315 and you his connections to find replacements for the customer. In business it is called a "goodwill" expense. Is it difficult to find someone to make old keys and is this a typical charge?
  20. Even as a boy, Stan was tall for his age. Thanks Ed. I can post pics now too!
