Universal tire at Hersey PA is a good source of tires, flaps (don't forget those) and tubes.
Online, Ebay or in person.
They have the turnover to ensure fresh supplies.
They will be tremendously busy this week, but always the best place.

Where would I measure the 60" on the axle?

I put the head back on (temporary, not done yet) and there is plenty of room for the engine.
I do not know how I misjudged it before.😅

Hi Mark,
Whatever you decide to do, I would recommend using electrolysis to remove all the rust on the inside of the tank.
Rust removal by electrolysis is all over YouTube.
This is one with a nice explanation for doing a gas tank.

Adjusting the height of the sill plate is a good idea.
I will put the head back on the motor today and see exactly how much height I have to gain.

The tread with is 56"
Model T's were available in a "Southern" width, but I do not see anything in the Buick Master Parts book for that option.

Today, I mocked up more of the car.
I think the slanted top steel trunk is too tall. I do not know if I should shorten it or by how much.
Most of them (like Mark's) are shorter than the top of the gas tank.
Also, The '23 Buick motor is about 3" taller than the 1914 Buick hood can accommodate.
The smart thing would be to add 3" to the bottom of the hood.
However, I rarely do the smart thing.
I would rather lower the motor and transmission mounts 3".
It would keep the hood and radiator surround looking stock '14.
Additionally, it would lower the center of gravity a little bit.
Also, since the pedals would be 3" lower, I could lower the angle of the steering column.

No, they are ADLAKE
Originally nickel plated. Painted black at some point. Not much nickel plate left. I will take them down to brass.

1922 Buick chassis with '23 Buick 4 cyl motor and trans. I am currently rebuilding the head.
Modern radiator is temporary. It will be replaced with a 1914 Buick shell with custom radiator to fit.
Round fire engine gas tank.
Angled top trunk and angled spare tire carrier.
More pics to come as it goes back together.

#1 is closet the radiator.
If you have the 1929 Buick Shop Manual, it is illustrated in the wiring diagram on page 52.

Thanks everyone for all the great ideas!
I think I will try them all:
Matt, I will contact Streetside Classics and see if they have a record of the color.
If that fails, I will try to track down the owner of the car (or another one that looks like the same color to me)
I will also visit an auto paint store and look at chips and/or the Sikkens color bank.
Gary, thanks for your work with Photoshop. I really appreciate it,
I do not know anything about Pantone, but my wife was a big time graphic artist. She will know.
Maybe Pantone will give me a starting point to match auto paint colors with.
I did have success searching for RGB=69,20,15!!!!!
Google says it is 23.3 miles off the northern coast of Norway in the North Sea!
BTW I do not want to use any metallics or pearl. I want it to look as close as possible to a period paint color.
