  1. Hi all - my son discovered this photo of my 1989 Reatta, which I sold shortly after he was born (can't install baby seats in a 2 seater 😞 ). I was reminiscing and wondering whatever happened to her. She was so beautiful and fun to drive. So, I dug up my old account name and password from when I used to belong to this group and logged in! I sold her in Jacksonville, Florida in 2011 but I don't remember the name of the man I sold her to. Her VIN number was 1G4EC11C8KB906752. I know it's a long shot, but if her owner is on here I'd love to know how she's doing!
  2. Hi guys, thank you for your responses. Padgett, no more travelling for me per doctor's orders, so no coming to Orlando for me but my brother said he could come over one day and replace the part for me. I have my husband's car to drive while my Reatta is down. I will take Harry Yarnell up on his offer for a good used module and get my bro to install it. Your earlier posts/photos plus my service manual will be a huge help. NCReatta, sorry, my car doesn't have a tan interior. Its interior is navy blue. Thanks, Kristen
  3. I had this exact same problem happen today. I just came home and disconnected the battery, too, then logged on to post a question but saw Squiretom's post first. My problem is that I'm 8 1/2 months pregnant and my husband is deployed, so I can't fix it myself. I'm going to have to pay someone. Squiretom - what did Mr. Goodwretch quote you fix this problem? Wondering what I'm in for... PS...I hate this, but I'm going to have to part ways with this beloved Reatta soon. I'll post an ad on the buy/sell forum eventually but if anyone is thinking they may want a sweet blue 89 with sunroof, new ac, new transmission, etc. sometime in the next year, let's talk.
  4. Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to this....but, finally, I have a price for anyone interested in a tool made to remove and install the inverted nuts used on the Reatta's interior trim. My dad can make you this tool on his lathe for $20, not including shipping. He made me one almost a year ago now and it made the task of replacing my interior door trim super easy and safe - no precious little plastic parts broken! I do not have a photo of the tool since I gave it back to him to copy, but basically it's a positive hex shaped tip made to exactly fit the inverted nuts, with a hole bored in the center to straddle the plastic threaded stem, and a small handle on the opposite end for you to hold/turn. Send me a PM if you are interested or if you have questions and I'll connect you with my dad. Thanks, Kristen Howard
  5. Hi - anyone have a Reatta they're parting out somewhere in FL? I need a windshield and would like to be able to pick it up rather than pay to ship. I'm in Jacksonville, FL. Thanks! KrisHowie
  6. Hi guys - just wanted to let all of you who were interested in the inverted nut tool know that I haven't forgotten about you. Circumstances made me unable to visit my father when planned but I will be visiting him next week and will take a nut for him to size a tool from. I've saved all your PMs so I'll contact you again soon. Thanks! Kristen Howard
  7. I just spoke to my dad last night. I'll be visiting him over Labor Day weekend and will take my tool back to him so he can size it and copy it. He'll figure out what it costs him to make and ship it and will let me know so I can get back in touch with everyone who requested a tool. I'll be in touch soon..... Thanks, Kristen
  8. Hey Nic! I also got your PM. Per your request, here's the original thread. http://forums.aaca.org/f116/interior-trim-inverted-nuts-256148.html I just now saw that Barney and some other folks posted replies. Life got really busy for me for a while so I put all Reatta business aside for several months. Last night was the first time I've logged on to the forums in quite a while. You asked for an update.... My husband was transferred from CENTCOM in Tampa to NS Mayport in Jacksonville this past June, so the Reatta lives in Jax now. She is happy to finally have an enclosed garage to live in! Before leaving Tampa, we had an all new air conditioner put in the Reatta. I also managed to finally replace that interior trim that I wrote about - thanks to my dad's lathe work. The Reatta is still my daily driver, although I only drive it 2 or 3 days a week since I'm unemployed right now. I have seen a couple around Jax and will jot down their VINs for Barney next time I see one parked. Good to hear from you! Kristen
  9. I'm bringing up an old topic I posted months ago. I wanted to replace some of the interior door trim on my 89 Reatta and was trying to find a tool to remove the inverted nuts. I had no such luck so my dad, a machinist by hobby, made me a tool. It works great! A photo of it is attached. If anyone is in need of such a tool, I can connect you with my dad. I don't know what he'd charge but I'm sure it wouldn't be much as he enjoys doing that sort of thing and he'll make it out of scrap. Send me a PM.
  10. Not my car, but I found it when searching Craigs List for parts. If anyone out of town is interested in it, I'd be glad to go check it out for you. CLASSIC 1988 BUICK REATTA
