  1. Hi jon, ok sounds like my best bet is to find an m1, i have just bought a zenith T4, so if i get one of each i may have a good chance of having something that will work, thank you very much for your help Dale all the wheels on my truck need rebuilding, the front and rears have 14 spokes and look heavier and are more square shaped, im thinking your wheels could be for the smaller model 10 or model E ? as they came in 1 ton size, the spokes are rounded and theres only 12 thanks for the offer and im sure theres someone out there who needs them, Mike pic of a rear and front wheel
  2. Hi jon i have spoken with another republic 11x owner who told me the carb on his continental n engine was a zenith T4 he did say it could of been non original but it was attached to the inlet tube and looked in the same condition as the rest of his unrestored truck, if the stromberg m1 is correct ? do you know what venturi size m1 it should be ? or are all m1 carbs the same? also would the zenith t4 work on this engine? appreciate your help and advice on this matter, thanks mike
  3. Hi clifford yeh some of the smaller Republics used continental engines the 3 3/4 is the bore size, my engine is a continental N type engine nos113286 and the chassis nos dates my truck to built sometime in 1920 it also has the torbensen geardrive rear axle same as yours, my truck was a 3000lb rated truck a fellow 11X republic truck owner told me what carb to look for which is a zenith T4 which i have just had one offered to me and another forum member has part of the mag quadrant but the levers are of an earlier model, but its great to be able to find the parts i have so far, the bottom radiator tank on the truck was destroyed when a tree fell across the front, i do have another rad but its slightly larger so im looking at having a new bottom tank recast ? 2nd pic shows a plate over a starter position hole and in bottom left corner of last pic shows the little oil level gauge which has a black arrow, probably had a glass face ? clifford your engine looks the same with the lower rad tube on an angle and the top water tube shape, these engines are rated at 22.5 H/P mike

  12. Got some pa truck updates, ive managed to speak to frank in ny and he knows of a 20’s pierce arrow parts truck, so waiting for him to get back to me, also he had some other pictures of the poletruck paul posted a picture of that was at phil matshalls, turns out the front wheels were wooden spoked but the rears were like mine, i also spoke with tracy kroon in montana who has bought and sold a lot of antique trucks and parts and runs a restoration bussiness there, he knew of earlier pa trucks but nothing offhand like my era pa, ive added a picture of the parts marty in chicago helped get for me, a recond distributor and spare caps, pa name badges, originals and reproductions, a delco remy generator, mileage recorder and remains of two gauges, and a period muffler, most of this came from Milwaukee, the rest of the truck was scrapped, also added a picture of the engine sidepanel that came from france, i will use this as a patern to reproduce the leftside panel and latches hope this is of interest mike
  13. Hi Al, ive tried on some french sites but the language barrier is an issue, and i found if your asking for parts they are less likely to respond, well that was my experince, if i was you id join the uk site “hmvf” as a lot of european restorers check in on that site, youd have a chance there i reckon mike
  14. Hi AL, sorry havent come across any riker parts as yet but you never know whats out there, perseverance is whats needed mate, im sure something will turn up, that engine sidepanel i bought came from a lady in monaco- france! Lucky for me she researched what it was and offered the panel to me at a very fair price to offset the cost of posting to way down here, cheers mike
  15. Hi paul thanks for those pictures, i have tried at least 1/2 a dozen times to phone that restauraunt but no one answers, maybe they have caller i/d and see its an overseas number? But just recently a guy from the pierce arrow club site has phoned them for me and left a message, so im hoping to find out if and what parts they may? have, or perhaps know of any? others i will update as soon as i get a response cheers mike
  16. Thanks a sell, only way i can think of finding someone willing to look could be on facebook? maybe? can you remember if the chassis was chaindrive, were the sprockets still on the rear wheels? mike.
  17. Hi jeff, no havent heard of that one, i was in missoula for two days last year on our trip have had this engine sidepanel offered for sale so bought it as it has the latches and an original nameplate, from this i can reproduce the other one i need, another part i dont need to find now cheers mike
  18. Hi, yes i bought one of them for the parts i needed, as it was just a Rolling chassis and the shipping company i got them dropped of at lost them and because they were sharing a yard with another company and they were moving everything was scraped, both companies blamed each other and i got nothing mike.
  19. Got an update, thanks to a helpfull guy on another website, have been sent some pictures of a XB model pierce which shares same mechanicals as the XA, i dont think this truck is for sale and they too are looking for some parts so maybe between us we can help each other? here are some pictures mike
  20. Hi Al , interesting engine, were these engines used in cars and trucks, ? I use diesel to free up stuck engines, works on most of them, keep us updated Thaks mike.
  21. Yeh Al allways interested in quality made trucks from the early period, if you want pm me the details thanks mike
  22. Hi Al, yeh these trucks do take up a lot of space allright, well im on the hunt for a few things as you never find these old trucks complete usually, the most important parts im looking for are the correct front steel spoked solid rubber wheels for my 1926 pierce arrow truck, ive posted pictures of the rears in the PA thread, and im also looking for some sheetmetal for the White which the model 45 white 5 ton models shared hood and fenders same as my 5 ton model TC, Al do you have any pictures of the big packard you had, if it was an early one it would of been a chaindrive monster of a truck ?, with wood spoked wheels? Did the guy you sold it to ever find the missing parts and restore it? or is it still a project in waiting? love to see it cheers mike
  23. Hi Al, yeh Albion built approx 6000 trucks for ww1, mine is from that era being chassis nos 1979F, but i couldnt tell you if it had gone to the front but it is a WD model 3 ton version, i have a few other trucks from that era the liberty being a well known make and a 1918 white 5 ton model TC, and i have a packard like you, mine is a 1915 model D, 3 ton size, i dont have any of these restored or runnig yet and have being concentrating on finding missing parts for each one of them, the most success i have had lately is finding a complete running continental engine for my second type two Liberty chassis, which i have bought but are waiting for the shutdown to be over so it can be shipped back here, a bit frustrating but just got to see this virus thing through, i will add a couple more pictures of the unrestored gems !! sorry not good pics though, cheers mike liberty and rear shot of the white
