  1. I didn't find any parts for the DeSoto with the limited time I had to walk the flea. What I did find was a very moving experience standing on the road with my 23 year old son watching 55 65 75 100 year old cars DRIVING past. I have been to Hershey a few times before, once with my son and never had enough legs left on Saturday to go. My son and I agreed for now on the show is the priority. Maybe some day we'll drive our car on the show field at Hershey. Pretty Cool.
  2. That's really too bad, I would be willing to pay for this. I will only be able to attend for a couple of days this year so it would have been nice to be able to plan my pilgrimage in advance In the past I have bought the Program but then I get distracted by something shiny or rusty. You know the rest of the story.
  3. I am looking for an oil bath air cleaner for my 56 DeSoto Firedome 330 2V. Some gages, switches, and wall hangers. John
  4. Hi Everyone, I have a 1957 Cadillac model 62. The old girl is sagging in the front and left rear. The front coils are sagging and although it isn't broken the left rear leaf is sagging too. I am looking for a source for front coils and rear leaf springs. I have read about having the leafs re-ark ed but I don't know of anyone I would trust to do the job. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks for reading this. John
  5. The Cadillac is no longer for sale. Thank You for your interest. I have managed to find a way to keep her. John

  7. I have a 1957 Cadillac model 62 that divorce forces me to sell. I wanted to offer it here first so hopefully some one who loves these cars like I do will be able to give her a good home. It is black with white and black leather interior. Power seats, power windows and automatic headlight dimming. It has a 365 4v with rear A/C. The car is a driver and still has a lot of original parts. This spring I have had the radiator re cored, water pump rebuilt, belts, hoses, major tuneup and a fuel pump. Recent repairs include axle bearings, brake booster rebuild, brakes all around and floor insulation. I have over $11,500 invested but will accept the best reasonable offer. I am located in central Massachusetts. Please email for more information.
  8. Is anyone interested, the body is real solid?

  10. Vehicle Number is stamped on a plate attached to the left front door body hinge post. Engine Number is stamped on a machined boss on top of the front side of the cylinder block just behind the water pump. Body Number is is stamped on a plate attached to the front side of the dash panel near the brake master cylinder under the hood. This information is directly from the 1956 DeSoto shop manual. John
  11. Can anyone tell me what my Grandmother is driving here? Thank You for looking. John
  12. I was curious if anyone and everyone could recommend a book or series of books that cover the "how to" process. Perhaps a textbook type publication that would cover for the hobbyist what is involved and how do I do a ground up restoration. Where do I start? What tools and resources do I need. What can I do and what will I need to sublet? I am not talking about a Chiltons or shop manual. Something that would cover things like interior removal. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you for reading this. John
  13. I finally got the DeSoto's brake booster back together and on the road. I managed to purchase the part I needed for a fair price from CollectorsAutoSupply.com
  14. I have asked two and they won't sell me the parts I need.
