  1. Thanks Lamar! :-) And thank you for supporting me over the years! You're right, the launch of the website is just the beginning. I have thousands of items I'm going to share. Currently I'm working on the records containing radio commercials. The one for 1957 is just awesome!
  2. Try http://www.hometownbuick.com/1957-buick-convertible-top/
  3. Maybe the Dynaflow chapter of the 1950 Shop Manual can help. http://www.hometownbuick.com/1950-buick-dynaflow-transmission/
  4. Thank you! It was hard work and needed a lot of time to gather all that info and transfer it into a website. If you want me to add anything in particular, you can post it here:
  5. Of course, I have it for all Buick model years of the 50s. Here is 1956: http://www.hometownbuick.com/1956-buick/1956-buick-configurator/ (Please give it a few seconds to load.)
  6. There is a new category: Buick Radio Spots! I've added the first one. It announces the new 52 Buick model line and invites prospects to visit their Buick dealer.
  7. This is how the EHC color code looks like... Made with the 1955 Buick coloring tool: http://www.hometownbuick.com/1955-buick/1955-buick-configurator/ Give it a few seconds to load.
  8. My name is Jan and some of you might now me from the 1954 Buick forum. I've got a 1954 Buick Special Riviera, which was my kick-start for the Buick hobby. I didn't had much time to drive her in the past years, because of another project. After I bought my 54 Buick, I met MrEarl and we started the 54 Buick Highway at www.1954buick.com. Besides that I collected everything that was for sale about 54 Buicks. That was the beginning of the reference part of the forum. Some sellers had packages of old Buick stuff, plus I started to take a look at other model years, too. Today, about ten years and over 3,000 collected, scanned and digitalized items later, I am very happy to announce the launch of my time-robbing project HOMETOWN BUICK. My dream to provide all major info to all 1950s Buick owners & fans finally came true. You will find for all model years: All models Production statistics Interior trims Exterior colors Body Tag & VIN plate decode Info Lists of optional equipment Online literature Videos Wallpapers & much more Here is the full story: http://www.hometownbuick.com/hometown-buick/ You can also explore the my collection which I call the "Hometown Buick Collection". I will add items continuously. You can visit my new website at www.hometownbuick.com. I hope you enjoy it! If you have anything to add or improve, please let me know! Honest feedback is very much appreciated!
  9. The bow tie was used in a pre-announcement-show of the 52 Buicks. It was worn by the invited salesmen.
  10. The year 1955 was the last year for salesman factsbooks with a pocket for paint chips - so the 1956 didn't have it. In 1942, the paint chips were part of the book itself, see picture. The other books I have come without the paint chips. The color chips are very hard to find. There is a one for 1953 on eBay right now: http://www.ebay.com/itm/261821412194 Highest bid is 153.50 USD (a few hours left to auction end) - thats higher than what I'm asking for a book...
  11. I've got a big lot of spare Buick Product Service Bulletins. $19 per issue. Just let me know what you need. Some of them are already on eBay: 1951 1952 1953 1954 1955 1957 1958 1959
  12. Original book, very rare, $490 or best offer.
  13. The originals have a strong metal binding like office folders (see attached pictures). These folders are much more expensive to label (means: to have a printed front/cover and back). Costs were twice as high or even higher. And it weighs more, which leads to higher shipping costs. A "Wire O-Binding" (with the little wired circles) is the poorest quality way to bind a book. Most Buick books like shop manuals, product school manuals, parts books, factory books, etc. of the day weren't using the spiral bound either. Thats why I've chosen the professional glue binding. Its durable, looking nicely and rather cheap.
  14. I always want to match the originals as acurate as possible. See this comparison: http://www.buick-59.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=6547&start=30#p64324 The 55 fabric book consists of samples only - that makes it impossible to produce a reprint like the others (1956, 57, etc.). But I could create a new book with all the information. I put that on my to do list for 2015.
  15. Michael, the book is on its way to you! I got two requests about the original 1958 Buick Showroom Album - sorry, it is sold since a few months. But I have two other neat items as reprints to offer: 1959 Buick Showroom & Trim Album http://www.ebay.com/itm/1959-Buick-Colors-Fabrics-Features-Showroom-Book-/161510685401?Item=161510685401 ...and... 1959 Buick Coloring Book http://www.ebay.com/itm/1959-Buick-Wells-Fargo-Coloring-Adventure-Booklet-for-Kids-/161510684944?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item259ac97910
  16. Because of some questions: Yes, I have the spinners and they go with the wheels. There are two sets: 1 all original (metal) and 1 set of new reproductions (plastic).
  17. Different covers usually indicates a manual for export models. But in many cases the inside is different, too. In your case, the inside is the same as the common owners manual. And because of the condition, I'd say: 5-10 USD
  18. It looks exactly like the factory correct trim.
  19. Very rare 1955 Buick book - it shows the interior trim samples - which are in great condition. Price: 690 USD plus shipping. Available through this Forum or via eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-1955-Buick-Colors-Fabrics-Showroom-Album-SUPER-RARE-/161471049097?pt=Motors_Manuals_Literature&hash=item25986cad89&vxp=mtr
  20. Very rare book in very good condition for its age. All samples are present and in good to mint condition. Price: 790 USD plus shipping. Available thorugh this forum or via eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1954-Buick-Colors-Fabrics-Showroom-Album-SUPER-RARE-/161471032363?pt=Motors_Manuals_Literature&hash=item25986c6c2b&vxp=mtr
  21. Set of 4 - in good condition, but they need to be rechromed. 1490 USD plus shipping (only insured with online tracking).
