No, that's not the correct price, but what a pretty sedan this one is. I've always loved this body's lines -- especially the gentle arches at the top of the doors and the great wheel opening arches. Beautiful color, as well. I know that this is the kind of thing that only a Minnesotan would notice, but it looks like this car never had any heater, at all. Even by '36, that was uncommon.

I see all of the trim, wheel rings and hubcaps, windows, lenses, grille and misc that a guy could ever want already there. Plus a maybe nice old paint job. So...maybe not $6,000, but not a whole lot less?

'35 and '36 Chrysler product fender skirts are one height, from top to bottom, and '37 and '38 ones are an inch or two shorter. I don't recall the sizes at the moment -- maybe 14" and 16". I'm wondering if these brown ones are off of a '36 as they aren't flush with the bottom of the fender.

Yeah, we are in agreement regarding the dash. Can you imagine the glare off of that sucker?

Studebaker offered their cute Brougham models under the name of "St Regis". So, was St Regis the patron saint of two-doors? I just looked up the drive to Wasilla from Minneapolis, 53 hours!!!

I remember a family in the old neighborhood who owned one of these back in the day. You have to ask yourself, what good did brand loyalty do them, if they ended up with something this embarrassing?

I think that as much as any manufacturer, Studebaker capitalized on this cute, but ultimately not all that popular body style. I imagine that it seemed like a good idea at the time, but was, in reality, more cute than useful. Studebaker called them "St Regis" Broughams. They even came on the "President" wheelbase:

Yes the white roof "lightens up" the top-heavy look of the Jet. The same is true of the Hornet Hollywood that Xander just posted. Perhaps that is something that other Jet owners might bear in mind.

Do you guys think that the beltline molding color treatment is original, or a bit of artistic license?

I think that a guy could spend a lot of time and money chasing dents and replacing stainless on this Chrysler, only to end up with a plain old sedan with a flathead in it.

I know that not all guys like green, but I think this Dodge is particularly attractive.

Clock, radio, heater and fender skirts, plus the tricky trim pieces. Price aside, that's a great head start on a car with wonderful Art Deco sensibilities.

1965 Impala Convert Tangles With Stolen Hyundai and Loses.

A couple of days ago, the owner of a '65 Impala convertible was struck by a stolen Hyundai here in north Minneapolis. The Chevie driver was killed while the driver of the stolen car was able to flea the scene, although he left a hurt female who was with him, alone at the scene. She was transported to the hospital for treatment. The car thief hasn't been identified as of yet. The pictures of the totaled Chevrolet are small and show little detail, but I'm a little surprised at the nature and extent of the damage it suffered. If you look closely, you'll see that the whole rear end of the Chev was driven downward to the extent that the seam between the back of the rocker panel and the right rear quarter panel was torn open. I try not to be a cynic, but I've seen evidence of inadequate and shoddy repairs before. I'm also very aware that there a guys on this forum who a much more qualified to pass judgement on such things as I. What do you guys think? Should that Impala have been able to take that rear end hit from a Hyundai survived better? Here's a link to an article about the matter on one of the local news stations:
