I have used Glenn Cheaney as noted above to rebuild starters and generators for my Packards, V12 and V16 Cadillac. He does an outstanding job! I see you upgraded the distributor. the originals had dual points I think, and if not synchronized, definitely will not start. Does it not turn over at all? Below is his contact info John Charles (Owner)Glenn Cheaney (Master Rebuilder Since 1955) http://acewichita.com/index.html gcheaney@aol.com 316.529.8854 239.821.6548 good Luck! Robert

  14. The one I have that is the final link to my restoration of my 1931 452 AWP was shown to be somewhat not true and when magnafluxed had numerous cracks and fissures. I would like to know if anyone has had these remanufactured, etc. I can certainly have this done at a drive shaft shop but wanted to know if an avenue already exists, thanks Robert

  16. i use two 6 volt batteries in parallel in my 1931 Cad V12, 1931 packard and 1934 Packard V12. maintains 6 volts but doubles cranking amps. works great , no problem with generator in terms of charging. You can make a case to fit both and even an old large 6 volt case to put them in. mine have battery boxes so the battery is not open to view anyway.
