  1. What fluid should you put in a newly rebuilt Jetaway. I was told that the Dexron 1V will break down some internals. Too much info flying around now adays keeping everyone confused.
  2. Here is a good one--I live in Vegas I don't have a problem with vapor lock it is solved-- When the temp of the engine gets around 200 degrees or more 4th gear drops out. Let it sit for a few minutes and temp of engine drops 4th gear is fine until it the temp of the engine goes back up. Any Ideas??????
  3. Hi, Before tearing in to the steering wheel does any one have any experience working on the switch that is on a tilt telescopic wheel. The switch works but can't get it to cancel and center right. Always having to play with it every time I use it. Thanks Ed
  4. Thanks for the offer but I have already got one on the way. $15.00 Fair price but yours is much better. Save it for the next guy. ED
  5. Hi Paul, Thanks so much for the info. Don't know how us OLDS Guys would ever get our cars repaired without you. Checked Buick Farm and they only have 2 ea of these (slides-rollers) available. I will also hunt up a 66 fisher body manual. Again Thanks a lot ED
  6. Thanks GUY'S, I have the pedal ED
  7. Hey Paul, Thanks for your help but look closely at the pic of this roller. (dual purpose)The Toronado has 5 ea rollers in the front door. Two of them are Part # 9724575 they are available. 2 more are the standard riveted type. The other 2 I am looking for slide in a short channel that is mounted on the window frame. and also run up and down in the main channel. They are in there I believe to hold the window from moving in and out. It is a huge window. I did get 2 from Restoration Specialties but it took a 2 weeks for him to find them. He also told me he had no more and no part # for them. I might have the count of rollers wrong for you but hopefully I explained it. The 1966 service manual has nothing on the repair of the window and the parts books I have don't have anything in them either. THANKS AGAIN ED
  8. Hi, I have checked several Buick and Chevy catalogs. I think these rollers are on the car because of the size of the glass. Are there any other vendors out there like Restoration Specialties. That have been around for awhile??? ED
  9. Hi, Someone knows where I can get a couple of these window rollers for my 1966 Toronado ED
  10. Thanks for all the help.Hope something pops soon. ED
  11. Hi, I am in dire need of an accelerator pedal for my 1966 Toronado. Any Ideas Part #s for same. Probably other front wheel cars will work(eldorado ).Haven't had much luck with junk yards. ED:(:(
  12. Hi, I always thought the hermeticly sealed compressor was the A5 as in this pic. The #'s on the other compressor in question 29 DC 374 Model # 5911120. The one in this pic cannot be repaired. Just the seal and the clutch. Oldsmobile used the later A5 (I am now guessing it is a later A5)from 1958 thru 1961.That is all I really know about the A5 in my car. Can the compressor in question be used in my car and still be considered correct ??? Ed
  13. Hi, I should know it's not for an Olds. Olds have a 2 groove pulley. This still is a GM compressor What year and what car????
  14. Hi, I have what I think is a pre 1958 A/C compressor. It is flanged on the back so I think it can be rebuilt. What I would really like to know is , do you call this compressor an A5 like you do for a 1958 thru 1961 sealed compressor or does it have a different designation. Any body wants it can have it for $30.00 plus shipping. Don't know if it pumps but the clutch works. Ed:confused::confused::confused:
  15. I have a Borg Warner fuel pump #40987 I believe it is for a 350 gm engine. $20.00 . Has been sitting in a box in the shop for quite a while, box is very dirty pump looks brand new and includes gasket. ED:):)
  16. Can anyone give a little info on the 36 olds business coupe. How many built. Some sort of value for a non running builder that needs floors ED:o:o:o:o
  17. Any body have a parts interchange that can tell me what cars and years of cars that used the same upper and lower control arms as the 1965 starfire. I know of a few oldsmobiles just looking for more options cause they are just not laying around waiting for someone to purchase them. Just one of the fun things when you own a full size olds. Thanks ED
  18. Hi, Call this number he is in riverside, ca. He has what you need and wants to get rid of it 909-350-4403 his name is bob. ED
  19. I belive this compressor is for 1957 and earlier. Been sitting a long time and was closed up. Still has oil in it, Tested the clutch and it works, clutch bearing seems good also. I have spun the compressor by hand "wrench" and it pumps up also, This compressor has the flange on the back and can be taken apart and rebuilt I think. not like the 58 and newer A-5s. $125.00 or reasonable offer plus shipping. Also has single pulley on it. Model #5911120 also this 329 dc 374 all tags still on it. Send e-mail for pics. ED
  20. Thanks for the input guys. I installed another rebuild kit in the master cylinder and I now have brakes. Can't believe it took three kits. This is an a/c car sooo it is a lot of work to repair this unit and bleed the brakes. :):) ED
  21. Need Some help with my brakes. I think the booster is sucking the fluid out of the master cylinder. I have rebuilt the master cylinder bled the brakes took it for a three mile ride-- everything was okay. Let the car sit for a few weeks and was starting it once a week and let it warm up. I didn't drive it during this period. Went to take it for a ride today----NO BRAKES fluid gone out of master. There is no sign of leaks any where. I have went thru this scene twice. Master cylinder plunger is nice and shiny no pits. Used an after market rebuild kit the first time, then used an NOS rebuild kit the second time on the master. Any thoughts and ideas greatly appreciated.:confused::confused:
  22. I think I fixed the link to the pictures:rolleyes::rolleyes: ED
  23. Hi All, I need some help trying to figure out what this car is worth. What I know for sure---The car has been sitting in the same spot for about 7-8 years and started occasionally. It was started sometime last year, needs paint, top,and upholstery. There are some patterns for the seats and door panels. Old top bows are there but some end pieces missing. Fuel line is plugged (tank too probably). Electric fuel pump. Also what would the car be worth when completed. I am not looling for a high point show car just a nice driver that can have some fun with. Don't know how to downsize pics so Its Photobucket. http://photobucket.com/17Oldsmobile Thanks ED:):)
