  1. flasher works super good!..finally at the speed of today's flashers - it used to be a bit slow before
  2. voila! installed the LED flasher and 4 x52 LED taillights for $9! ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/191571031817?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT) and the difference is significant...love the new look and the fact that the oh so dimm original taillights are now highly visible! (upper:before, lower; after)
  3. thanks! just ordered..they should come next week, along with the LED flasher you suggested! update with pics will follow! appreciate your input!
  4. emmetttc! thanks so much for your input! was trying to find a "cheaper" led flasher but always came back to the one you posted! the HID conversion kit is on sale - the price is really unbeatable.. and yeah, post some pics! question: if I replace the taillights with this http://www.ebay.com/itm/4X-1157-Red-SMD-LED-Turn-Signal-Brake-Light-Bulbs-/191571031817?hash=item2c9a85f709:g:v-oAAOSweW5VCJTZ&vxp=mtr would that be a sufficient substitute? or do I need specific dual function LED's?
  5. hey guys! just got a mail from rockauto - they have a wholesale closeout on tc parts - I ordered a bunch of extremely good offers... here's the link! Wholesaler closeouts for your 1990 CHRYSLER TC MASERATI
  6. interesting! could you provide details of your headlight conversion? ( make&model) how about LED taillight/turn signal?
  7. hey there fellas! anyone substituted their headlight bulbs/stop/tail/blinker/marker/interior lights with equivalent LED's?
  8. thanks! link saved! btw...this morning: no abs or check engine light....veeeery weird....
  9. haha! ghostymosty! that cracked me up....indeed, I passed the smog test but surely enough....2 days ago, my TC came up with code 12 15! ( 12= direct battery input controller disconnected within the last 50 ignition key ons... and 15= Map Voltage too high/ MAP sensor input above maximum acceptable voltage ) WTF! I gave the TC a brandnew MAP sensor before the smog check!.... also...my ABS light came back on....the next day its gone...now its back.... ( exchanged the pressure sphere last year....) every day something new.... oh, ghostymosty...can you post the stateside where I can check ?I did not even know thats possible! as usual, thanks again guys! you always save my ass!
  10. cat came today, had it installed before the end of the day....( sounds good so far) ...so cat was 120, installment was 90... ( is that an ok price/???) will go get that f%#%@$ smog check done tomorrow
  11. ordered at amazon just now and will have to look for a shop that welds it on asap.....
  12. called them and got a part number 58834 universal cat will order asap and get it over with!...so far, that's the cheapest option out there! thanks again for the pointer!!
  13. went to catco and could not find either a fitting cat, nor a price...they dont have an easy online procedure to find parts...unless you have a part number... are they even cheaper than the walker cat for around 150?
  14. ok..installed the MAP sensor...drove 1 hour on the freeway to warm it up....and it failed with the same results... ( the guy knows me since 2007 and did a pre test before the real test, which did not take place...) looks like my cat is shot...because everything else has been done!! ( except for the fuel pressure regulator...I took off the vac line and it did not really smell like gas...but a little....) any recommendations for a budget cat install in the hollywood area?!? are cats for a lebaron the same? any idea to get this done as cheap as possible??? btw...cat does not smell like rotten eggs...it just rattles....FOUND A COUPLE OF OPTIONS....
  15. ha! well, thats some good news at least...just ordered a new MAP sensor from rockauto...after installment, I will attempt another test at the smog check station...
  16. here's a little insight...this sensor was only a couple of years old and was changed by the previous owner.. I can tell a bad spark plug from a good one but not with 02 sensors...
  17. everything is stock - its the mitsubishi v6..will go back to the testing place (prob on he 2nd of jan) and have the test done again...did not have any way to test sensor outputs myself, other than the onboard diagnostic option and it gave me no codes except for 5,5; end of test...I suspect the person doing the test just did not pay attention to the proper vehicle info ...
  18. hemi! good to hear from you! here is the original printout....( will have to take a pic of the o2 sensor and post it) thought my car specs are in my profile? ( 1990 v6 tc) Smog check - Dec 23, 2015, 7-00 PM.pdf
  19. removed the old o2 sensor today ( surprisingly easy to remove...probably because it was only a couple of years old...) nevertheless, it looked pretty crusty inside...deep brownish baked in stuff...so it might only be the o2 sensor that kept me from winning the emission circle....
  20. hey mark...thanks for your input !ordered a new 02 sensor today from rockauto, just to be on the safe side...who knows...maybe it failed before its time! will check all vac lines also... fuel pressure regulator?? I dont think so...but it looks like it has never been replaced... merry xmas to all of our members here! will report back asap with update
  21. as usual, thanks digger! I always appreciate your expertise!! I am stunned that there are no codes at all...the former owner installed a new 02 sensor - I think a couple of years ago...usually, they last a while, right? still, I could order one at rockauto and be on the safe side...never checked if it glows red...( or green ) does not smell like rotten eggs...but! it rattles!! not a lot but I can hear it in idle.... oil? well, it suffers from the valve stem issue...and I dont feel like getting that done...only smokes if it stood longer than 20 hours... I am at a loss here....
  22. Hi guys! of course it happens before xmas!..1990 tc fails emission test...I changed plugs, cables, fuel injectors, vacuum lines and more about a month ago.. seems to be dumping too much fuel into the chamber...checked codes...55 ( no codes...) just in case its the cat?! whats the deal with catalytic converters not licensed for ca?! found the right type on ebay for $88, not for ca...the absolute SAME model for california is $196??? would anyone ever notice the difference?!? here is the printout... if anyone can point out the culprit - that would be xmas for me! thanks so much!
  23. just came across this...its 53miles from LA...talked to DAN ( 951 681 5234 ) and asked him some details... its an 89, burgundy/tan with app. 130kmiles and a cracked head...also, it does not have wheels anymore!! he wants 800 obo...I would buy it right away if I would have the room...from the pics it looks like a keeper! so if some of us are interested, give him a call! here's the link http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/5304439639.html
