If Your Car Already Has A Nice Shine And You Are Only Wanting To Preserve The Shine, I Would Recommend Either Meguires "Gold Class "Or Mothers "California GOLD " (Both Carnauba Wax), But Neither Have Any Cleaner /Polish Qualities. Be Sure You Have It Shining Like You Want It Before Waxing. Larry

  3. I Am Not Sure The Manufacter, But Someone Made Aftermarket Grills (That Fit Between The Headlights And Resembled The "tube bar grills" That Were Popular For Other Cars. They Totally Changed The Look Since Corvairs Were Not Factory grills. Larry

  5. These Were Cardboard (Same As Kickboard Material)And Usually Dark Color To Match Interior.Across Front Edge They Had A Metal Strip About 1" Wide That Was Covered In Same Color Vinyl Or Leather. Larry
  6. These carburetors On The Underside Had Several Small (maybe 1/8 To 3/16 Holes Drilled In Them From The Factory, And Were Packed With lead Plugs. It Was Common For Them To Leak with aging. Remove Carb And Turn Upside down On Workbench And With Small Nailset ,Reseat Them , Let Carb Dry Completely ,Then Coat Them Lightly With "J B Weld". Let Dry & Reinstall Carb. ONE Is Directly AboveThe Well In Intake That You Speak Of.Rub Your Finger Under Carb Directly Above The Spot Where Your Leak Is, AndI Bet You Find Gas There.LARRY P.S. If Not RETIGHTEN GAS LINE.

  11. If You Are Just Looking For An Easy 2" Or So Lift Auto Zone Has A Universal "HELPER SPRING SET" That Bolts Simply Underneath The Original Springs And Shows Very Little When Installed.Very Inexpensive(I think about $30.) Good Luck,Larry

ON A'55 Super "88" The Top Part Was Painted,Then The Bottom Was Covered With Different Colored Vinyl And The Two Were Separated By A 3/8 Inch Strip Of Chrome(Similar To Door Edge Guard).The Top Was Usually Matching The Leather Trim On Seats,And The Bottom The color of the seat material.HOPE THIS HELPS
