  1. THEN THE GAUGE IS BAD. USE A CONTINUITY GAUGE JUST POST TO POST ON GAUGE WITH NOTHING ELSE ATTACHED. IF YOU DO NOT GET A READING THE GAUGE IS BURNT OUT.
  2. When using reverse be gentle engaging the clutch. They were notorious for snapping an axle in that moment.
  3. Bushing worn out. needs replacing but not dangerous!
  4. NOT OK TO DRIVE. IT IS HARD TO TELL EXACTLY WHAT IS GOING ON FROM YOUR DESCRIPTION BUT YOU NEED TO CHECK: BACKING PLATE, AXLE AND BEARINGS, LEAF SPRING U-BOLTS FOR TIGHTNESS OR BROKEN.

  8. It has all new brakes,hoses,belts. Changed out coolant and all the other fluids. Has new rear axle bearings and seals. Front bearings cleaned,inspected and packed in new synthetic grease. Still has the original upholstery which needs replacing but is good for patterns. Runs and drives well. Asking$ 16,500o.b.o.

  11. Are you taking it to Hershey to sell? I am going and would like to see it in person before I commit. I live in Texas so I have to be sure before I drag it that far.

  13. Also could use a good restorable rear bench seat and front seat frame.
  14. Looking to buy rear seat spring (FRAME) for this auto and also the front seat frame that you sit on,bolts to the floor. I have the leanbacks for the front but would buy whole seat. Will be at Hershey. Thanks for any leads!
  15. Thanks to K8096 for your input on my confusion and also to Marty Roth for your input as well and what a great looking '41 I might add. What through me off is I have a friend that bought a restored '40 cad coupe and it has one jump seat behind the driver. Must have been retro fitted! I appreciate the help and for your time.
  16. Was the jump seats I see in the coupe also available in the convertible coupe? If so does anyone have a lead on where I might pick one or two up? Thanks in advance!
  17. Yes it is Positive ground. Yes you can bypass it like that or screw the fitting out of the pump and plug it. Good luck!
  18. I do not know if Lonny Eskrandt is still in the biz but he dealt in nothing but 29-31 chevys. He is in Rendon,Tx It is called Stanley's Parts. If they are that would be a good source.
  19. Not sure but I think there is a snap ring behind the dust cover. I hope memory serves me well.
