  1. I had my vacuum wiper motor rebuilt in Long Island. Found the address in Hemmings. The wipers work like new! Bill
  2. After considering new drums to used drums I reluctantly ordered 2 new front drums from Kanter. I am told they are probably mnfg in China. The drums cost $99 ea and are cast iron, not steel disks fused to CI rims. We had to cut rivets holding the hubs to the old drums and attached the hubs to the new drums with hi-strenth bolts. Then took a slight cut on the brake lathe to true-up the drums and re-installed. The brakes work as well as the old drums did. I am pleased. Someone had asked why, with so much steel, I was replacing the drums and the reason is that the old drums had finally been cut so deep that we were cutting into the area where the steel was fused to the CI. Thanks for all tyhe helpful comments. Now, has anyone ever been able to separate the cowl above the instrument panel from the instrument panel to allow access to the speedometer and other stuff under the cowl? Bill
  3. I need to replace brake drums on my 55 Super Riveriera. I plan to replace the front drums with new and put the best two old drums on the back. Any comments? Does anyone have any ideas about sources for brake drums? Thanks. Bill
