  1. Using argon gas and #23 wire works well for most all body welding. Just keep in mind that flux core welding wire has acid in it therefore it will corrode and rust thru a paint job. I'm not sure how many years this takes to do. I use flux core wire but at my age my cars will out live me. I have to do a lot of grinding and sanding but I don't mind that either. Beats body work shop prices.
  2. I have towed my share of vehicles on my flatbed trailer with my 1990 F150 and even though they all got home safely I was a nervous wreck every time. I have been told by several Ford dealers that my truck can pull very heavy loads safely. I also have a 23 foot trailer weighing in at 4800-5200 pounds fully loaded that I pull and I cringe every time I take it out. I have a anti sway bar and electric brake controller and electric brakes on both my trailers and I still am a wreck. Looking for a 3/4 ton but have not found one in my price range.
  3. I'm sure you'll get what you want for this car. If I could only sell my 1964 T-Bird I would buy your car right now. Unfortunately the T-Bird has a new rebuilt engine in it which will not yet start. A minor problem we are looking into. The t-bird is all original.

    engine swap??

I'm not saying this can't be done. I believe it can, but if the experience is not there you'll need a lot of help. I'm 62 and I read a lot and always did my own work all my life. I have a 440 in my shop and I know I would not attempt to put it in my 51 Hudson or my 55 chev pickup. I would opt for a smaller engine. If you just want it to be a daily driver I would put a 6 or small block 8 in it. I have 6 vehicles: 51 Hudson, 55 1/2 2nd series chev pickup, 55 plymouth belvedere, 64 t bird (restored to original), 69 dodge charger, and 73 dodge charger. Only the 55 plymouth and 73 charger run at this time. If I could I would trade half if not all of these for anything pre 1930 that half way ran. Being young you have time but time can slip away real fast. Lotd od luck..
  5. Keep checking E-Bay. Just enter hudson for car make and antique/vintage parts. I saw the h-power aircleaners for sale several different times. I also have a 51 pacemaker with a 351 cleveland engine in it. I decided to customize my car. Should have kept it stock. 10 years later and it still isn't finished. Of course my other 5 cars and 1 truck could be slowing me down.
