    portable toilet price increase

    I just ordered the portable toilet for my spot at Hershey.  The woman on the phone said to me that this year there would be a small price increase. 

    The cost went from $95 to $110.  When she told me this, I said "I am afraid  to hear what you would call a big price increase."

    So my question is, what company do you other vender use for your portable toilet?  And most important of all, what do they charge?

    I need to order them, who do you use?

    Hi, Dan.

    Forget the Comedy Central comments...Al is correct. You are not far from the Stadium. I also recalled seeing "potable water" trailers some years ago. Bottom line just ask a HERCO official, Hershey Region member, or, other vendors. One thing for certain it is available as there are many others with the same potable water needs.

    In the Jan/Feb '14 issue of MAFCA's Restorer magazine is an ad for a 1931 Ford Model A pickup that is listed as a "Nine time 1st place winner at Hershey, Pennsylvania." As a AACA judge I wonder how the seller can claim that. If the pickup was judged as shown in the photo in the ad I see a number of deductions that would put even one "1st place" in jeopardy. I believe the claim to be misleading to say the least.

    I live in South Berwick, Maine and received this email from the Old Berwick Historical Society and am hoping someone can identify this car. I will be taking my restored 1931 Model A Tudor to the Cummings House for show and tell. I think it is very important to introduce antique cars to as many young people as possible.

    "Hello Dan,

    Patti Mitchem at the Land Trust gave me your name as a possible source for an antique car to show during a local history walking tour for school children next May. I work for the Old Berwick Historical Society planning the event, called the Hike through History, along with teachers from the Marshwood School System. Next year the theme of the tour will be Journeys, and we are looking for a car to show at the Cummings House on Railroad Avenue in South Berwick, where William Cummings, owner of the Cummings Shoe Factory, lived.

    A photo of Cummings in one of his early cars is attached. I don’t know the date of this car—you may recognize it. We don’t need to replicate this vehicle, however; we simply want to have a vehicle from the period 1910 to 1940, when Cummings lived and worked here. (He later had a Pontiac, for example, which shows in photos of his house). The purpose of showing the car to young children (grades 1-3) is to reinforce the concept of sequence in time—a comparison of something they are familiar with, such as a car, in its earlier form.

    If you can help me with locating a vehicle we could have on display for May 31 next year, I’d be grateful. I’ll look forward to hearing from you.

    This is the full trip there and back for those who want the full ride. Take a Gondola ride from Stowe Mountain Resort to the show field 21 May 2011. How many times does a chance come up to do a flyover of the show field. Better then the Hershey flyover photo. It helped make up for the rain. Thanks AACA Green Mountain Region for putting on a great meet.
