  1. Those things work great Roger. I used them when I installed the roof corner on my car.
  2. I'm told by the guys on VCCA that in Canada the wood wheels were standard on closed cars, exactly the opposite of the US. Go figure. As well, Canadian cars had a nickel plated rad shell and US cars had an aluminum one.
  3. This is a photo we had developed from a negative we had found. Turns out it was taken in 1930 and shows my father-in-law's Whippet (What year?) and his dad's 1929 Chevrolet. According to my father-in-law, his dad's car was notorious for snapping rear axles.
  4. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. And then the fun begins. It should be adding stuff to the chassis from now on. We're watching.
  5. I am truly impressed. Those beer can bezels top it all off. I'd like to know how to do that. And the body work.... it shows you don't need a fancy rotisserie to get things straight.
  6. I have some parts left over Tinus. I'm supposed to inventory them and list them. I'll make sure you get the list.
  7. You might need to install one of your snowmobile engines with a geared down winch to turn that rig.
  8. What a difference a week makes. we woke up with that this morning.
  9. Thanks Tinus. Now I should take them to South Africa so I could drive through the winter.
  10. the mechanical parts should be easy to find. The missing trim on the fender and beltline could be another story. You'll have to be prepared to do most of the labour it yourself, because the costs can easily exceed the value of the car. But they are nice, comfortable and reliable cars. Have fun.
  11. Roger, I think you meant Hemmings was honored to have your project in their pages.
  12. Nice job Bernie. I assume the same guy who did the Packard's interior also did this one?
  13. She has also appeared on the cover of Old Autos, the premier Canadian old car newspaper and on the cover of The Filling Station's new catalog. I had sent them a picture to show where the hundreds of parts I had ordered from them went to.
  14. Today, my daughter had hired a professional photographer to do an ad series for her hairstyling shop. She also "hired" my two cars. So I spent a cold day in the park surrounded by leggy young ladies. The last shot shows our Town Hall across the bay.
  15. Very nice Rick, especially in baby blue. Have a few rides before you put it away.
  16. Hey Scott, that is a lot of work for stuff that will be hidden. It shows an exceptional attention to detail. I think the "reviving" in your thread title is a bit of an understatement. Like John says, there are a lot of other parts to take you through the winter. By the way, did you make that dogbone patch or was it available?
  17. I love that kind of thing. I've been trying to take now & then photos like that of places in my and my family's past. Not easy to get them from the identical point of view. I'd love to know how that put them together like this. It says Photoshop. Mut be complicated.
  18. Chris, not so long ago the dash was the nice part, after all that cleaning. It is all relative isn't it? Enjoy!!!
  19. Niiiiice! I can imagine that first ride was very rewarding.
