Thanks guys. I passed it on.

I repaired a seat frame for a friend and the wood was black, more than likely a preservative. What would have they used then and what would be a modern equivalent to retreat it before reassembly?
Best regards and Merry Christmas to everyone.

My dad is 93 and he just finished his last car that he started working on in the early 60s. He's looking around for the next "project" although keeping the stuff he has running seems to be a full time job.
OK, I'm not too old.

My feelings exactly. I sure hope it is not due to health or financial issues. From my perspective, the greatest of old car guys are the ones who have accomplished a project like this. Thanks for resurrecting the '34 ! Maybe a new opportunity has come along. - Carl
No, not health or financial issues. No new opportunity either, too old now to start again. ?

WOW! Surprised you are selling that one with all of the work you poured into it with your heart and soul.
The whole thread had started with a quote from one of your posts. Feels like 100 years ago. If it sells, fine. If it doesn’t, just keep driving.

He sent an email this morning saying that after some deliberation he will likely paint it black along with the garnish moldings.

My understanding is that the US assembled standard Dodges (at least up to 1925) were all black baked lacquer. Hence, the dashes would have been black. However, I'm not sure about the Special Roadsters and Special Tourers which were available in other colours, as were the Fisher Coaches which came in Blue. I suspect that all dashes were assembled off the vehicles for ease of production and that they would have remained in black lacquer. Any advance on these theories??
Here are two which are body colour, however, it doesn't mean they were born like that.
