  1. Please send me any information if you have one of these Buicks for sale. Thanks!
  2. Please leave information, and I will contact you. Thanks!
  3. This is the same engine in my 1988 Oldsmobile Regency. My Olds has the 3800, so I guess the Park Avenue does as well! Thanks for your advice/assistance.
  4. This particular car has this engine: 3.8L/231 CID Is this a 3800 engine -- the really great engine? If not, is the 3.8L/231 CID a "bad" engine? less desirable than the 3800? Thanks!
  5. I thought there were two different engines .... one preferred over the other (the 3800 preferred). When I bought my 1988 Olds 98 last year, several forum members on the Olds site warned me to make sure my car had the 3800 and not the 3.8 (or maybe it was 3.3L?) engine. I want to make sure that an 87 Park Avenue has the 3800. Wikipedia says the 3800 became the standard engine for Park Avenue in 1988. I have the VIN #. What letter or number designates the engine type? Does anyone know? Thank you all for your help. I am not near this car, so I cannot look under the hood. (-:
  6. Is it the 3.8L or the 3800? I have the VIN # for the car. How can I tell from the VIN? Which engine is preferable? Thanks!
  7. How can I tell if the engine is the 3.8L or the famed 3800 V-6? I have a 1988 Olds Ninety-Eight with the 3800 engine. Great car. Wikipedia says the VIN number will reveal which engine. What number or letter do I look for -- and where will this letter/number occur in the VIN sequence? Thanks!
  8. A colleague has a clean 87 Park Avenue for sale ... one owner with 88K miles. The car is in excellent condition. Can you tell me the strengths of this model? Any concerns/known weaknesses? Thanks!
  9. Hi, Joe Did you sell your nice Toronado?
  10. Please send information. Photos welcome. Thanks!
  11. Please send information on either model. Photos welcome. Thanks!
  12. I am checking out the Reatta now. Thanks for the input. I am afraid of the Allante. I test drove one (loved it, though it had a miss in the motor), but the interior looked so terrible (everything cracked and broken). The AC did not even blow. Price? 6K I couldn't believe it.
  13. Looking at a few clean models for a weekend car. I would like to find one that has eye appeal, is comfortable to drive and ride in, will be dependable. I am not interested so much in future value -- just a really nice, clean, car that is really nice to drive for short weekend travel -- and one that looks classic. Here are my choices thus far. Please feel free to add what you know about each model. Thanks! 1985 Cadillac Seville 53K 1991 Cadillac Allante 57K 1985 Buick Riviera 51K 1991 Buick Riviera 62K 1989 Buick Park Avenue 102K
  14. Can you tell me what to look for in this model? Strengths? Weaknesses? I have not driven the car yet. How does this Riviera model ride? drive? Thanks!
  15. Thanks for the information. I knew that dark green color was probably not forest green, but that was the way I always described it. LOL I will post on the suggested forum as well. Thank you so much!
  16. My dream 71 Electra 225 would be a forest green with white vinyl top, loaded, four door model. That car was the most elegant car to me when new --- and the same model, an Electra Custom, with the rosewood brown and white vinyl top. Like that one as well!
  17. Hey! Thanks for the information and the help. I plan to buy one of these models whenever I can -- how soon depends on the car I find, the price, etc. My e-mail is buickfan79@yahoo.com If you have leads, please feel free to send them. I do appreciate your help with this search! I think the 71 model Electra is beautiful, and it has a special sentimental (childhood nostalgia) feel for me, too.
  18. Seeking a clean, dependable model 71 Electra 225. Prefer four door loaded, but open to other possibilities. Thanks!
