  1. Thanks Again for your help. Have a nice Thanksgiving... Gary
  2. I own a 1957 Oldsmobile 98 that was badged and certified HPOF in 2006 & 2007. I am very happy with this award, which was done at Hershey. I am reading in the December issue of Antique Automobile that owners of of vehicles previously certified twice at the HPOF level can make a request to the vice president of class judging to have their car re-considered for a AACA ORIGINAL Award. I would like to make the request and I was wondering if their was a email address or person I can contact to help me with this request. Thanks Gary Della Vecchio Member #411063:)

  4. Well.. I still have a leak. Still saw oil around the fuel pump. Talked to a few people looking at the engine. They said hat the fuel pump could be spraying fuel back in the engine causing the rear main to leak. Oil spots on the ground look sort of shiny and very thin. I am going to put a new rebuilt fuel pump in and change the oil and filter. Also may add some Lucas stop leak oil in to help the seals. Any help would be appreciated.. Need to drive this car to Hershey. 203-070-5248 Cell...Thanks Gary
  5. I think I may have found the leak on my engine. The fuel pump had alot of fresh oil on it. So took it off found that the gasket to the block was shot. So I replaced the gasket and I am going to run the car today see if that did the job. Before this I replaced the timing cover crank seal thinking thats where I saw some oil... Oh well at least I found it. Thanks to all of you for your help. My 1962 Olds 88 Conv will be at space G75 in the corral. I wil be driving it from Connecticut, A very nice car.
  6. I did replace the PCV valve. Seems to be working and klicking. I will check the vent tube & clean the breather...
  7. I am having trouble finding an oil leak on my 1962 Olds 394 engine. Since taking valve covers off and valley pan I have created a leak that I cannot find. I do not have access to lift. I did replace the valley pan gasket with a rubber gasket. Also valve cover gaskets were replaced with rubber gaskets. I do smell oil burning after driving the car for long time. I just put the manifold back on and its running fine, I really do not want to take off the manifold again. I have done 3 times with no success. Are these 394 engines prone to have leakey valle pan gaskets. Any help would be appeciated.. I want to take the car to Hershey. Gary
  8. Hi Dave, The car has the factory 2 bbl original matching numbers engine. Really a very nice car.... Gary
  9. Steve I curious to how the system works. I know of a few people who get the same car corral space every year. There spaces are choice spots on the road that goes around the Hershey grounds. How can it be fair if I a newer member, gets a spot in the orange field when I apply like everyone else early. I do not understand this for the car corral. It should be done by 1st come and not the same spaces every year for the car corral. Should be like a lottery so that all get a chance. Please advise........ Gary

  12. I posted for 1962 Oldsmobile Starfire Hubcaps wanted. I received an email from the UK stated that he had a set for sale with the clips for $260.00. He wanted me to Western Union him the money. After me WU him the money he gave me a tracking number and a homemade website First Flight Courier. When i put in my tracking number it said held due to duty tax. I informed him through email of the situation. He emailed me back said to send him $150.00 more for duty tax. I was sort of mad and confused. I wanted him to split it $75.00 each. He only agreed to $100.00. So again I WU him $100.00. I did some checking and the site I believe was fake. I contacted WU and was able to get back the $100.00 but I am out $260.00.
