one thing these 3800 swappers never tell you is if the reatta engine and trans mounts will fit the series two engines.im trying to buy a 1987 fiero[four cylinder/auto]to swap my engine and trans into.the kits to swap the 3800s never say if they will work on my 1989 engine and trans too.
the thing i don't like about fb marketplace is that you can't search for certain year cars.also they throw other cars into the search findings.if im searching for a 2005-9 mustang i don't want to see 2003 mustangs, camaros,or challangers.
is there a rear wheel drive tranny that works with this 3.8?i know earlier 3.8s were rear wheel drive.i was going to look at a 1977 not running mgb today but someone beat me to it.
i was thinking taking an economy car with too small an engine from the factory.like a vega but front wheel drive.i will never own a four door car.four seats are ok since the back seats never get used any way.i have never driven a car with someone in the back.
i just assumed that 3.8s were being swapped into cars other than jeeps and fieros.
the rear freeze plugs on my rivetta have started leaking again so im wondering what would be a good smaller car to swap the drivetrain into? a fiero is the ovious choice but its hard to find the right one. since everyone with a reatta perks up when the 231 is mentioned,i wonder if they have seen where a fwd 231 was swapped into a caviler/beretta/sunbird or other?
i checked on rockauto using suspension struts as an example.not available.im afraid this would be worse than the reatta for available parts.i need to get a more popular car.it is a beauty though.
