  1. FYI, on Prewarcar. So sad that so much time, effort and money ruined by color choices.
  2. I calculate with 2.94 and 35 x 5 tires that 82 mph would be 2220 rpm. Hope this helps
  3. I would note for consideration that General Pershing was highly regarded and highly respected. However, there is no way for even a 4 star General to come close to affording a locomobile. I would find it extremely unlikely that anything untoward occurred. I would expect some civic organization purchased the car and then gave it to him as a gift for services rendered to the country. One can find other examples of gifts to him such as a horse (he was a calvary officer). James
  4. Sorry if it a little off topic but would love to hear about the history and some photos (?) of your 1920 K-46 coupe.
  5. I am very sorry to hear more issues discovered relating to the engine and most sympathetic. However more than once reading these posts over the months I am puzzled by the recurring comments to assume the the unknown is good enough. After the January 2020 posting about the JB weld in the crankcase I would think that the decision would be simple. Either fix the one element, button it all up and sell it without having to factually misrepresent the car or fully disassemble and inspect and measure every single element of the engine. To be surprised about more instances of hack work is to deny the known facts. At this point I would recommend one ascertain the entire condition of the engine, fix what is needed and have certainty about the rest. This will mean that once you do succeed in reinstalling the engine you will be able to drive with confidence. Otherwise, after all of this work you will always have a concern in the back of your mind, as to whether it may break for some reason at any point in time.
  6. Not sure who A1915dodge was/is. Not making any comment about Brassworks. I do know Mr Trepanier who owned Harry and Sons provided outstanding radiator service for decades and was well known and respected in the local HCCA. As noted not clear why BrassWorks would comment about an ancient posting. Mr Trepanier has passed and his business is closed. Another artist gone who can provide expertise to help keep our cars on the road.
  7. The tires has been sold. Thanks for the interest from several folks.

  12. Unfortunately for the person having spent all of the funds on a fine restoration, they will be doing well if they obtain $35k for the car. From the general perspective of antique car lovers, the restoration helps ensure another piece of history will likely survive for a long time to come.
