  1. The correct spotligt for your car would be a GM Safety Spotlight S-1. They can be very expensice, usually run around $1000 for a fully restored one, or around $400-700 for used one. You can find them on Ebay every now and then, or at the Pomona swap meet, or other swap meets, or instagram (be careful of fake sellers). Here are some pics of the GM S-1 Safety spotlight that I installed on my 1939 Cadillac (61 series) afew months ago. I used the No. 98-23 template, and I also attached the tempates for both 1939 Cadillac and Lasalle. Good Luck. Anthony

  8. Hello Dave, is your guard on your 38 painted black or body color. If your's is body color, can you post a pic of your 38 with it installed. My 39 chevy has one mounted on top (body color), my 36 Buick has one mounted on top (black), and my 38 when I bought had it mounted on top as well (black), not sure if this is correct but it looks better. I am about to mount my two piece guard on my 39 Buick Century, I think it goes on the bottom, not sure wether to paint it black or body color. Not sure about the physics of pebbles bouncing up and hitting the back of the bumper or the guard and wether having it installed on the top or bottom works better, my 36 & 38 Buick, & 39 chevy seem to work fine with it installed on top. Does the parts book show it installed on the bottom (which) is probably the correct position?
  9. Yes, it's the original self shifting tranny, it was a little tricky with the dual carb linkage and the because the linkage is connected to the tranny as well, but it came out awesome.
  10. Hello, I have a 36 Buick Roadmaster with dual carb set-up, I put dual 30" glasspacks and the sound is so so. I am just finishing my 38 Buick Special (self shifting tranny) which I also put dual carbs on (Swanson's Buicks did the work). Any recommendations for what type of muffler, i.e. flowmasters, glasspacks, cherybombs, etc. I know a Buick doesn't sound like a Chevy 235 which raps very nice with glass packs. Just want it to sound better than my 36 Buick, I know my 36 Roadmaster has the bigger engine than the 38 Special; any suggestions????
