  1. Goodyear’s illuminated tires were never mass produced. (1961) These tires look like they belong in Tron, and as cool as that sounds they never made it to mass production. The light up tires were invented in the early 1960s by Goodyear. They’re constructed out of Neothane, a synthetic polyurethane rubber that’s easier to produce than traditional tires. Aside from being easier to construct Goodyear said that the tires were more resistant than their rubber counterparts. Aside from being easier to produce the tires were also translucent, something Goodyear took advantage of by adding dye to the rubber. This addition of dye ended up producing a vibrant hue in the tire, and when hit with rims of light the tires literally glowed in the dark. Unfortunately, the light up tires just weren’t practical and Goodyear stuck with regular old tires.

  3. In 1916, Adeline and Augusta Van Buren became the first women to travel across America on solo motorcycles. They made it despite being frequently arrested for wearing pants.
  4. The first McDonalds in Moscow on opening day, 1990. It was the largest McDonald’s in the world at the time, with seating for 900 and a staff of 600 workers.

  7. "Jim Capaldi always liked the car and bought it from the estate, and I got it from Jim a few weeks ago." So this is not the same Jim Capaldi who was the drummer for the British rock band "Traffic" back in the day? I'm thinking probably not since he died in 2005 unfortunately.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Capaldi
  8. The suspension looks pretty weak. Or is it supposed to look like that?
  9. What is the purpose of that large removable piece in the middle of the bed-to access the front of the engine?
  10. I joined eBay in 1999 and became a full time seller in 2002. I sold over 30,000 old car brochures, old shop manuals, old owner's manuals, old license plates, etc. to people in over 30 countries. The most auctions I had going at one time was 877 and the most things I mailed in one day was 47 but I wouldn't recommend that to anyone because that was a LOT of work. I started losing interest in eBay when they changed their feedback system to allow sellers to leave only positive feedback for buyers while buyers could still leave neutral and negative feedback for sellers. Is that fair? Hell no! There is no listing fee anymore which is cool. When I had something to sell that I knew would get a big response I would list it in a 10 day auction and have it end on a Sunday night at 9 eastern time. Things started going downhill for me several years ago when Hemmings stopped listing their "wanted" ads in the online version of their publication because I had had VERY good success buying large collections of old brochures and manuals for several years. Then in 2012 my dad died and left me some money so I don't care what eBay does anymore since I only have 4 auctions going for old license plates. Good luck with your sales....

  13. Here are three classic car dealers with thousands of cars for sale. Many are in the $40k price range and some are higher or lower. Two of them have several locations around the country and one (Volo) is in the Chicago area. **Make sure you AVOID Gateway Classic Cars!** Good luck.... https://www.streetsideclassics.com/vehicles https://www.volocars.com/auto-sales/vehicles?q[0][name_dir]=price.asc https://www.vanguardmotorsales.com/inventory?q[make_eq]=Chevrolet&q[0][name_dir]=published_at.asc
  14. The salesman will act like your best friend at ALL dealerships whether they sell new, used or classic cars. I personally think that the car is overpriced. I would suggest buying a car that's mostly original because it will usually maintain its value better than a restomod. Also, look up the dealer on the Better Business Bureau (www.bbb.org) website because if someone else bought a car from them that they're not happy with they may leave a complaint with them to warn others to avoid them. Keep us informed and good luck....
