  3. I did mine verticly also . You asked about brushing , while I do a lot with a brush I would not attempt it on spoke wheels . The rigs in the photos look great ! Ken

  5. I agree with David . I turned mine manually, you will need to shoot from many different angles, and then the other side! Four wheels in one day no runs, I was younger then . Ken

  9. I just found this and thought I'd share it . It is a homemade greeting card, a photo of a model car, both photo and model done by my late uncle Robert D. Wild.He built the model when he was young, and later did the photo for the card . He had a life long interest in early cars and owned a 1909 Hupmobile.I hope you enjoy this diversion.

  12. You might want to check out using Penetrol paint conditioner. http://www.flood.com/Flood/CustomerSupport/FAQ/DIY/Penetrol+FAQ.htm The last time I used Rust-O-leum for a brushing project, I put it away and got some Benj. Moore, job came out great! Ken
  13. I have a set of four doors & front body panels. Front right door is fixed so I suspect a RHD car, top edge is wood trim ,approx 1 1/2" wide. Might they be Hupmobile '13 foredoor touring ? I would like to identify them, any guess as to value? Thanks , Ken
  14. Pair of oil / electric ( factory, not homemade ) side lamps . Asking $ 600. More photos / condition info on request . Thanks for looking , Ken
  15. After my response I looked at the photo again and the shape of the rear fender seemed different . Back to the research dept. It might be a 1912 roadster on a 110" wheelbase. Ken
  16. For Sale pair of rear fenders for 1911 model 18 in good condition . Asking $1,000 . Thanks , Ken
  17. Are you sure it's a truck ? Hupp did make one in '13 but the seat in your photo looks like a runabout seat . My research ( please correct me ) drawing shows a simple "wagon "style seat on the 1913 truck. Can you get a better scan of the photo ?

  20. The bearings are Hyatt .I should have put thrust collar in the subject line . I think the thrust collar is a hard steel washer & felt . I used a modern seal the end of the Hyatt fits nicely to the seal . thanks , Ken
  21. Can anyone give me a description and dimensions for part number 360; rear axle roller bearing thrust collar ? It goes outboard of the wheel bearing. Thanks , Ken
  22. WTB : I am looking for a front cross member (under radiator, part # 672) for a Hupmobile model 20 . Thanks , Ken
  23. I don't know what it might have had origianlly but I would use a good marine varnish . It may well have been varnish originally. I recommend Flagship,Epifanes,or Schooner in that order. If you get enough on it can be wet sanded and buffed to near perfection. Another option is Awl-Brite Plus ,also a marine product, it has a slightly more "plastic" look to it,but you can buff it and it's bullet proof . Have fun , Ken
