  1. I had my drag link remanufactured by Rare Parts a few months ago. Great service and only a 1 week turn around. I paid about $400 for the service (1965 Buick Electra). I did find that the exact same service was available at Autozone for less money. Their ad even said the item was supplied by Rare Parts, and there was a core charge. And after returning the core, I could have saved 75 bucks. Since the part is so difficult to find, I didn't take the chance with a middleman, and dealt with Rare Parts directly. I've also dealt with Then and Now and had great service. Y
  2. You'll probably want to buy a specific manual for your car, but in the mean time here is a link to the Team Buick site that has the info available. Good Luck
  3. That's right around the corner from where I worked. Small world. thanks
  4. Got mine today. Both are packaged up nicely in ONE plastic envelope. Thanks for another great issue of the Bugle and for all the hard work it takes to publish a roster and handbook. Bill
  5. I guess the deciding factor was the thickness of the 'Club Member' letters. They are a bit pudgier than the top and bottom plate. The white background of the middle plate was also too white for it's age. But the more I looked, the more I questioned myself. I went with my first choice. Thanks for posting Chris and Jill Bill
  6. Not sure of a specific car club for Minerva, but they ARE represented by WOKR - Willys Overland Knight Registry. There are approx 40 Minerva's listed in the roster. The Crawford Museum in Cleveland has a great example. Certainly a classy car.
  7. Where were they located in Ohio? Thanks Bill
  8. I had one on my Whippet and sold it with the radio awhile back. The antenna was just an aftermarket item that was mounted on a 90 degree angle bracket and was bolted to the running board. It was mounted in the very inside of the running board and wasn't visible easily. The antenna wire came out the bottom and was routed to the dash board area. Shouldn't be too difficult to manufacture.
  9. Is the engine froze up? Do you have a clear Ohio title? thanks Bill
  10. Beautiful looking car.....but then I'm partial to 65' Electra's. Does your engine have the cable and lock to hold down the engine in case....when....the motor mount breaks? I remember receiving a recall notice or some form of notification from GM in the early 70's stating that I should bring it back in for the lock and cable to be added. I didn't bother to get it then, but added it about 15 years ago when I found one available. Good luck on your Electra' Bill
  11. I'm going to guess the middle one is the repro. Lots of subtle differences, but they always say "go with your first instinct". Bill
  12. Matt, The photo came from the WOKR library. You can find it on this website: http://www.wokr.org/gallery/gallery6.htm I'm the forum adm. for WOKR and admire anything built with a Knight engine. While looking for a WK, I found a Whippet Cabriolet that I've been working on for a few years. I guess I like the orphan cars. I'll PM you with a bit more info on the Brewster. Bill
  13. It must be the twin sister to this 1920 The 10 spokes vs 12 spokes gave it away too. But she's sporting silver rims. Please keep us updated. Thanks
  14. Anybody have a friend living near Somerville, MA who could pick it up and mail to you?
  15. Not super quick, but Rockauto has it for $75 and you send in the part for rebuilding. Not sure of their timeline but the price isn't bad. Good Luck Bill
  16. I contacted the owner of the car and told him of my interest in Chandler Automobiles. Nice gentleman said the car has been in his family for many years but not sure about having a title. Bill
  17. NE Ohio 2.89 for Ethanol Free 91 2.00 for reg unleaded August 23, 2020
  18. Rare Parts In Stockton, CA. I just sent mine to them on Tuesday for rebuilding. Be sure to call them for instructions for shipping so you center link doesn't go to the wrong dept. I have a new centerlink that wouldn't fit my 65 Buick Electra. It was to be for a full size Buick. It was close, but not exact. I don't think it fits a Riv either. Bill
  19. Looking to buy a clean and straight hood for a 1965 Buick Electra. Wildcat and LeSabre hoods are not the same. My location - NE Ohio Please post here or PM Thanks Bill
  20. The larger Service Manual details the horn circuits and relay testing. It the proceeds to the horn switch plate in the steering wheel. No photos in that section. There maybe other illustrations in the book... like this one. It even states to use the existing bolt.
  21. There is no illustration in the manual. Mine are separate with the low horn on the passenger side and the high note horn on the drivers side. Mounting location can be seen in photos. T Bill
  22. I finally got under my 1965 Electra to find out why it wanders when driving. I found a bad drag link, so I went upstairs and grabbed my spare I bought many years ago....and it's not the same. Here's a photo of my current drag link and the new one that is marked 715. I looked up Mood DS715 and could not find a photo or listing. I'm thinking the new one is for a LeSabre and not my Electra? I'd like to put it up for sale but I'm not 100% convinced it's for a 65 LeSabre So close. But not close enough. Any way to figure out what the new one fits? Here are some photos and
  23. Got to ask: You say that the #2 spark plug was dry, but you smell raw gas like it is being dumped into the exhaust? And you think it is coming from # 2 ? If it's dry then #2 must be firing or not receiving any fuel air mixture to actually fire. Is this Cadillac engine an externally balanced engine similar to a Buick 401 nailhead? Any chance the flywheel is not installed properly and your getting an out of balance vibration and not an actual miss? Good Luck Bill
  24. Glad you got it working. Bill
  25. What model is it? Does it take a super small SIM card or is the memory tucked away inside the device? I have connected a garmin to the computer and copied the software to another device before. It had to be the exact same device. I have 2 old garmins that I still use. I like the fact that I don't use data on my cell phone.
