  1. Any numbers stamped on it? Also what size? I am thinking possible aftermarket item if it is a hood ornament. Hope someone else with more knowledge has the answer for you.
  2. This video may help some. Good luck on your search for a hood.
  3. Not International, the rear window is too square. International used an oval, and later a split rear window. I believe it is a 48-53 GM product too. Hard to tell from the picture, but I do not see a side vent glass in the door which makes it from the earlier years.
  4. Had some time to do some more research. There are some other things that point to it being a later model. In 48 they were still using flathead engines, and this van has an overhead valve engine. Could have been updated at some point. Also the grille and parking lights are the newer style. Round lights instead of rectangle and the grille has the two wide bars in the middle where the older modles had small bars all the way. Hope this helps narrow down the year.
  5. from what I can find out, I believe it is a 1960-1962> The picture of the METRO tag in your gallery shows it to be an AM series. Here is some info on Metros. Pinning down the year is not easy. The speedometer looks to be a sixties style also. International Harvester Metro Van - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

  7. I agree it is mid 60's GMC.
  8. can't place for sure, and no time to look for it now. Check some Hudson pics from about 1950 to see if anything looks familiar.

  11. Am I seeing traces of Ford Industral equipment blue paint? It looks industral to me too and for some reason I seem to recall Ford having a lock like that at one time. Can't remember what it was on though.
  12. Number 13 ---- 1947 -48 Chevrolet
  13. As far as I know, all IHC trucks were 6 volt positive ground until 1955. Hope this helps.
  14. Some nice cars. Thanks for sharing. Love the yellow Chevy 3100.
  15. could there be a third number? The references I have found all have 3 numbers. There was a PV-613 that was replaced by PV-722 for 6 cyl Chevys in that general timeframe. That was the closest I found.
  16. 1060 Chrysler New Yorker maybe? http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/get-attachment.asp?action=view&attachmentid=46225
  17. You are right, olympic. I misunderstood what he meant. Thanks for clearing it up for me.
  18. Are you sure about the lugnut count? Looks like 6 to me. The lugs seem to be paired evenly across from one another. A 7 count pattern would have to be offset because of the unequil number. Maybe I am misunderstanding what you are saying.
  19. A little too far for me since I am in Fla. Hope someone closer can use them. looks like lots of good parts on them. Good luck.
  20. Looks close to a 1940 White.
  21. Impressive collection for a young guy to have accumilated. Congratulations! Being an IH fan, the 52 IH pickup is my favorite. Also love the popping Johnnys. I spent a lot of days plowing on a G. It was a real workhorse.
  22. Great Christmas! For years i have mentioned to my kids that I never had a train set as a kid. Can you guess what this 68 year old geezer found found under the tree this year?
