While researching something completely different this morning I came across an article about the Stude (and its torching) in Special Interest Autos from May/Jun 1971. I tried to upload a PDF of the 2-page article but it was too large.

That is probably Steve at the wheel.

Layden, is that a snake under the car in the picture you posted or a pen marking on the photo? I don't know why that jumped out at me!

Yes, please give me a call 717-534-2082 and we will figure out what happened. It is Thursday the 30th & we are here until 4pm. The library will be closed tomorrow the 31st.

Your choice Dynaflash8. If the library already has the books in our collection we will sell them in our ongoing booksale or our literature auction in October.
Thanks,
Chris

If you are looking for sales literature, printed material, etc., the AACA Library holds a literature auction every other year. Our next auction will take place in 2011 on the Monday of Hershey Week.

Rattiac (and other curious readers),
The process to request information form the library is really quite painless. Once you submit the form, I do the research and will send you an order list that you can use to request copies.
A typical request would be something like "What information do you have on a 1932 Pontiac?" I would reply with a list containing things like sales catalogs, wiring diagrams, paint chips, misc. pictures, and magazine articles. Copies are $0.30/page for B&W, and $0.50/page for color. We also offer digital scans for $1.00/page.
As Peter mentioned, AACA members receive 1.5 hours of free research every year. Non-members pay $30/hr. Everyone pays the $10 processing fee. If you are able to visit us in Hershey all on-site research is free, you just pay for the copies or scans.
While I can appreciate your nervousness about internet transactions, I can assure you that we are a very professional & efficient organization.
The address for the library is 501 West Governor Rd., Hershey, PA 17033. Visit our website at AACA Library.
Let me know if you have any more questions.

We need it to be non-marque specific so that it appeals to the general "non-car-guy" public & the kiddies too. I will look into that DVD though.

Hi folks,
The AACA has over 100 films & videos on early motoring, touring, etc. Can anyone recommend a good film that is: a)available on DVD, entertaining and educational, and c) Length between 40 - 60 minutes.
A top film that fits this criteria and is already in our collection is "Merrily We Roll Along" with Groucho Marx.
Thanks for the help!

Nancy, we have a postcard & a simple information brochure but it does not list the collection or mention your vehicle. If you want copies let me know.

1930,
The link that Matt posted is a complete listing of our periodicals. Our online catalog which lists many (but not all) of our holdings can be found at AACA Library Online - www.aacalibrary.org
It appears though that we do not have the book you are looking for.

Dave,
I do not know who your friend spoke with, no one here remembers that request. Rest easy knowing that the material you speak of is indeed safe here. See the pictures.
Your friend can give me a call at the library 717-534-2082, by email critter@aacalibrary.org or by simply filling out our Research Request Form. AACA Library
As always Dave, feel free to contact me directly at any time.
Thanks,
-Chris

Wow, I didn't notice the roof handles before -- great eye!

John,
The library's book was published by Fawcett in 1953.

Hi John,
The library has a copy of the book you describe. There is a 5-page write-up on the Doble & the pictures are "sepia-ish". If it is indeed the same book, visit www.abebooks.com and you will see that there are plenty available as cheap as $7.50.
