  1. E-116-YH, that is an amazing metal working bench! Excellent craftsmanship there. I like it...and it's mobile too!
  2. Roger, 1/4" steel is widely used and recommended too. Another one for me to kook into.
  3. Jim, Masonite seems to be a popular choice. I'll have to check that out. Thanks for the suggestion!
  4. I need advice. I'll be assembling my workbench soon. Making 4x4 legs and cross supports. My bench top is an old "Toys R Us" store display counter about 14 feet long. The counter top is a very durable formica-like material, but I'm afraid it won't hold up to hammering or other impacts. What would be a strong durable material to put over this??
  5. Looking forward to our trip this year. It's getting close! Just wondering if there are any new eateries in the area or if any have closed because of the pandemic. What are some favorite places to go?
  6. We're coming in a day late (for us). We usually arrive on Monday, but thanks to the ever rising hotel room rates, we are coming in on Tuesday. Typically, our first 2 days there are roaming the area to visit several of the antique centers or stores. Always find good things in those establishments. Wednesday begins our 3 day jaunt through the swap meet. Saturday is our travel day. We no longer venture into the car show, haven't done that in years. Last time we did that, there was a blue Tucker in the show. The owner was trying to demonstrate how it ran, but it kept stalling, only running for a few seconds and it was extremely loud. I have it on video. Gotta look for that someday! Anyway, we are really looking forward to our trip this year. I know it will be spectacular!
  7. As many of you know, the Covid-19 Pandemic has put a damper on most swap meets and car shows, including Hershey 2020, but all is not lost for this year's event. The auto show will go on and I'm planning to go. I was wondering though, what eateries will be open? What are the Pandemic health requirements in the area. Are masks required everywhere, gloves, etc?
  8. Hi, Thanks for that offer! I appreciate it, but right now I only need the patch. If you find one, let me know!
  9. Hello All, I am searching for a 1994 Hershey Fall Meet jacket/shirt patch. If you have one available, please contact me! Thanks!

  11. Room rates are ridiculously high during Fall Meet Week. You have to start researching rates soon after you return home from the Fall Meet and find a place to stay for the following year. We stayed at the Comfort Inn on Mae Street for 12 years straight beginning 1 year after it opened years ago. The rates were good and my wife and 2 young daughters always came. At the end of each stay, we were offered reservations for the following year, but the rate jumped $150 per night. I asked why such a high increase and the plain and simple reply was...."because all the other hotels are doing it". Needless to say, we didn't reserve the room. Since that time, I've used the internet and telephone to find the best rate at the most desirable accomodations. We've never stayed more than 8 miles away and never paid more than $100 per night average....and we always stay for 5 nights. It's all part of the Fall Meet Experience and I'm in!
  12. Wow, that IS sad news. I will miss Ken this year. Will there be a current poster available for this year's event??
  13. Hello All, Does anyone have the black version of the plate in the photo? It is a commemorative plate for the 1985 AACA Golden Jubilee. The white version and the blue version are already in my collection. I need the black one to complete the set. Please email me if you have one to sell. the34kid@aol.com Thank you
  14. Here's my truck, ain't got no trailer! This is a 2000 Chevy Suburban with 195K on it. Runs and drives like new. Well maintained by me and driven to the Fall Meet every year. This is my 3rd Suburban since 1983. My '83 was a nice one but rust took it's toll. The '93 was sweet but sold it before it got too rusty for me. The 2000 is rust free.
