  1. Anyone know anything about these? What does SSC mean? I'm going to be helping with the sale of a one owner 118k mile 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais SSC and was wondering what kind of values these have. Is this something that would be worth putting on here or ebay for an Olds collector? Interior is excellent, but head liner needs replaced. It has some hail damage, but all glass is good. Paint is good minus some peeling on the hood. Rear bumper has a split in it that wasn't fixed very well. A/C compressor needs to be fixed.

  2. Don't think anyone has mentioned the New Beetle yet. The half that weren't sold to girls were bought for nostalgia and had a good chance of being well maintained.

    I've already seen a few 90s BMWs being babied. I think 1990s BMWs fill a similar segment to 1960s Buicks.

    Vipers were instant collector items as people thought it'd be one and done production and future Shelby Cobras.

    My favorites of the 90s are C4 Corvettes, Vipers, and 98+ Trans Ams.

  3. There are less 2004 Camaros than 1984 Corvettes. I will agree that newer cars last longer....initially, but difficulty and lack of interest in restoration will ultimately cause them to have a shorter life in general.

    Not to say to say there weren't similar stigmas prior, but the 70s and 80s brought a much more old man car image to luxury cars and mulletmobile to performance cars.

  4. They're fine cars along with the FWD C bodies, but styling, fwd, performance, nostalgia, age, extra doors, badge engineering, and better available choices hold them back in the collector market. It'd be nice for some of the nicer examples to be saved though.

    It's not up to AACA standards, but if you do a search, there's a guy doing a 1981 Oldsmobile Omega Sport, 1 of only about 600 into a stock looking restomod with a Impala LS motor and GOOLE AWD setup.

    I'm sure there have been Gremlins at BJs, and I'm not sure how well it would qualify in comparison to a Metropolitan or Issetta, but it is one of those cars that might bring more than regular market for it's cute or odd factor for the guy spending $100k's on a full classic or well optioned muscle car.

  5. Any mods to the 403? Most would prefer whitewalls on there. The original Rocket 88s had some muscle, so it would be neat to see this one done up closer to that. The bumpers redone with no rubber on them would be nice.
