  1. The postal service has closed a lot of their hubs and even my mail lady told me things that use to take 3-5 days are now taking over a week. I live in MI and had a small package mailed over a week and a half ago from NY and still not here!
  2. Did they use red primer in 1941? My 1940 56s was a grey primer from the factory.
  3. I agree and you can buy a lot of polish for $420.00 !
  4. I sure would be interested in some hood springs for a 48 Nash Ambassador as mine are weak and won't hold the hood all the way up.
  5. There is a group that does the route 66 tour each year. Last year was the first year and I joined them at the start in Joliet IL. The same group does a old US27 tour in Michigan each year and it is fantastic. Last year they had nearly 800 cars. Well organized and planned. This year the 66 tour is Oct. 4th - 18th. www.route66motortour.com
  6. Jack M, As seen here in your picture in the center is the aluminum fins for the speaker grill I need. The plastic can just be broke off the dash as all I need are the fins.
  7. Jack M this is the spring for the right side. Left one is reversed with points up on opposite ends.
  8. Yes, John is right! I am in the process of doing a 48 and would jump on it but it is a slipstream, and mine is a trunk back. I sure would like to get the left front door upper hinge assembly if possible. Can't locate the spring on the assembly for the left side that keeps the door open.
  9. Today an answer from a Nash person "That lever adjusts and controls the tension in the clutch pedal." Guess I got to do a little more reading!
  10. Both good guess. The car did not have a vacuum clutch to my knowledge but will pull out shop manual tomorrow and read more. I have read it over and over and don't recall anything on vacuum. To convert cars to RHD good thought, but why the loop? I wonder what years this was used on, or if any other Nash owners have this. I posted in the Nash section but no replies.
  11. I found a photo of the transmission and you can see the shaft goes all the way across the transmission for the clutch. Now what is the purpose of it???
  12. I don't know but sure wish I could figure it out. I have asked all over and read all shop manuals etc... and can't get an answer. Surely someone knows.
  13. Yes, it is. I looked at a 1952 and it had no loop. Got to be some purpose for this. This is on the passenger side and no where near the starter switch.
  14. Well I discovered this loop goes back and forth when you push the clutch in. So it is connected to the clutch so what would the purpose be for this?
  15. My son stopped over today and was looking at the loop and had me push the clutch in. It moves back and forth as you push the clutch! Can not figure out the purpose of it yet. I also posted this in the general section of AACA and no luck there either. I went to look at a 1952 Ambassador today and does not have this loop. Wonder what years also this was used, as well as what for.
  16. I have been trying for several days to get an answer to what this steel loop at the back of the motor is for. It shifts back and forth but have no idea of what it does or what position it should be in. It is mounted right at the back of the motor at the bell housing. Car is a 3 speed standard with OD. Any one know what this is for?
  17. I e-mailed him last night but have not heard back. He might be busy for the holidays which is understandable.
  18. I have asked all over and no has had an answer. I can't believe I can't even find anything in the shop manuals. Really has me stumped. What really has me stumped is it seems to move something in the bell housing but seems to far forward to be clutch related. It is right where the engine and bell housing meet.
  19. When I removed the fuel pump today I found a steel loop attached to the bell housing. It moves back and forward and feels like it is shifting something. I have looked through all the shop manuals etc... and can find nothing. Can anyone tell me what this is for ? What does it do and should it be forward or back?
  20. You could try Warren Engine on Grossbeck. Been a lot of years but they used to do good work. They are in Warren.
