  1. I have 25 with 14,000 original miles. I use 20/50 Castrol Detergent oil.
  2. Hows about hooking about 8 5amp diodes in series. They would drop about .5 volts each..
  3. I think someone put a electric fuel pump on it. Generator cuttout does not humm.
  4. I put over 100 miles on my 25 this weekend. It has 600W in the transmission. I just thought I would try the downshift to 2nd from 3rd. I tryed it at 25 mph.. I double clutched it as I always do.. Had to rev the engine pretty good but shifter smooth as butter.. 20 mph worked better and 15 was no effort at all.. Just a quick tap on the accelerator to rev the engine.. no problems..
  5. There are 2 different Start/cutout relays used. Depends on the ser# of the car. If you send me your ser# and email I will send you a copy via email of the original wiring diagram. gary@siebring.com
  6. Fuel Filter must have been added later. Mine only has a small screen in the fuel inlet port elbow at the vaccuum tank.
  7. The plug is 1/8" pipe thread.
  8. I did the tank on my 25 with the POR15 tank sealer kit. It did a super job and I did it exactly like the directions said. The Marine Clean product cleaned the inside to shiny metal. Then I poured in the quart of sealant and rolled and turned the tank for about 10 min then drained out all the excess . I then hooked a hair dryer to the gas guage bung and let it run overnight. The sealant hardened like glass and inside is now perfect. Never seen a product like it..!!
  9. Here is a link that is all about the repair of the very early electrical systems on Autos.. Automobile Electrical Systems - David Penn Moreton and Darwin S. Hatch - Google Books
  10. Is this a Starter only or a Starter/Generator ? If its a 26 and its 6 volt it would have separate Starter and a separate generator as far as I know. If its 12 volt system I think it would have been a starter Gen. combination unit chain driven and mouted on the Left side of the engine.. If you are applying 6 volts to the starter and its wound for 12 volts it would have very little torque and would draw about 1/2 the amperage.. What does it draw for amps when starting.. Do you have a high amp DC ampmeter?
  11. That is one of the best I have read.. Thanks Jason..
  12. Try these folks.. Advanced Electrical Rebuilders - Antique Auto - Marine - Agricultural - Industrial
  13. Hook the new one to the old one with the coupler and use the crank and very slowly feed it in and take the old one out as it comes around. A piece of baling wire on the free ends will keep you from dropping it into the engine.. There is no timing issue but the new chain must be tensioned properly acording to the Mechanics manual.. If you have removed the old one already , its a bit more tricky.. You must slide a yardstick in the st/gen opening and then slide the new chain on in and grab it with a hooked piece of wire and thread it thru.
  14. Silver Solder with 45% Silver melts and flows easily with a Bernz propane torch using MAPP gas. No Oxygen requred. Not as hot as Acetylene but perfect for this job. You must also use special Silver Solder Flux. Usually its a white liquid..
  15. Just watched Pawn Starts buy a 24 DB.. I think it should have been worth more.. It ran good and looked good..
  16. I quit lubricating the packing with grease.. I simply add a can of Prestone water pump lubricant each spring when I fill it for the summer. I think just water soluble oil like used for coolant on cutting machines.. I havent even had to tighten the packing nuts for a couple years..
  17. Dip the bulb in liquid Nitrogen and all the fluid will go back down into the well. Then let it warm up and it should be fine..
  18. Nope.. it was all one piece rubber and it had DB molded in the rubber.. Was never any linolium on floor. only linolium is on the running boards. The floor board is one piece wood.. It is long gone now.. It was all small broken pieces..
  19. Yes, one piece. It could have been brown but not sure.. I assumed it turned brown from age..
  20. The only thing I am missing is original looking grey rubber front floor mat. Rear is carpet and is all original. The rubber mat was so brittle it just shattered. Does anyone do a repo of one?
  21. Sure dont seem like them little Bogie's would offer much braking power.
  22. Hmm.. I see it connected to that arm and a pivot going back above the front guide wheels but I dont see what function it provides.. Nice pix..
