  3. i have  a 19553 ford f100 all stock with 6  volt electrical system.

    i installed a battery disconnect switch from negative terminal to one side of  disconnect switch,  and from other side of disconnect switch to where cable was fastened to prior to putting on switch .

    however the switch will kill the power and wont let truck start but when i have the truck running and click switch to off the truck stays running wont kill truck when running. why is that?

    [h=2]Chevy small block question[/h]

    I have a 283 in s 57 Chevy had noisy clattering under valve covers had rocker arms replaced with new original type and 30 miles later clattering is back any ideas? On solution?
  5. i have a 31 slant window with following steering issue

    The steering locks at any position but will come back if you turn the steering wheel.

    All rods steering componenst have been disconnected and greased, disconnected drag link will let steering move when car is on jacks

    when jack up at spindle top bearing will not move when on jack and spindle is hanging top bearing will turn and steering box seems free. this was done per les andrews book.

    any suggestions why steering is stiff and when turn the wheel in car taking a turn the wheel will not spin back? any and all suggestions appreciated

    to make a long story short the wheel is stiff in turning and if driving and make a trun right or left the wheel will stay in that position unless i pull it back it wont spin back on its own and if i didnt pull back i would go in circles.

  6. mll1446, it is a 1930 coupe standard, it is probabkly 1/2" out of alignemnt, body not removed from chassis. could cowl lacing be to thick?

    I am not an expert, but there are several possible things to try. How far out of alignment are we talking about?

    Lets start by trying to understand the problem better. What body style? Has the body been removed from the chassis during a restoration, or has just the hood been replaced? Can you post some photos of the problem?
