  1. I have a 37 President and had the same lock issue. A friend was able to make keys to fit all the locks. I am sure you can find someone who can still make the keys if you send them the locks.
  2. Oil filler tube appears to be the same as the 57-8 Golden Hawks which needed to clear the super charger. Also I wonder about 4 bolt valve covers. Might be an older engine.
  3. Thanks, I had already discovered that and thought I had deleted this post.
  4. A friend is looking at a 28 which needs running boards looking for leads for them
  5. my 37 pres originally only had rubber around the top of the door and relied on windlace for the sides. I used self stick universal weather strip I never found any other alternative
  6. Additional info. I used the original hubs and IIRC I did have to have them machined a bit to fit inside the rotor. I don't recall exactly how I achieved the correct bolt pattern. It was 11 years ago. I must have drilled a new pattern in the rotors. The Dictator probably has a smaller hub than the President I does. They work great!
  7. I built my own for my 37 president using Geo Tracker rotors. I made the bracket and have a template available. I have no idea if they will accept the artillery wheels. I would to go back and dig in the files for part numbers. I did power them on my car. MY APOLOGIES FOR NOT REALIZING YOUR PROJECT IS A CE. Maybe the info will help anyway.
  8. suggestion: 40 Ford convertible arms which use the modern style blades at Bob Drake IIRC
  9. If I don't count the tractors on the farm I learned in the 48 Nash coupe.
  10. The spring loaded ones are available at Stephen Allens.
  11. Here is the link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/373718761608?hash=item57035fc088:g:QK4AAOSwwgphPTIc
  12. I do not find them now. They do not show up in the sold section so someone must have contacted the seller for a private deal. Wish i had copied the link.
  13. Just listed. Set of R and L nice condition includes the stands
  14. I put rotors and pads on all four wheels on my 2012 F150 for the price of one wheel from NAPA and that included the shipping. Rock Auto sells a 4 wheel brake kit. Excellent quality parts. I have had nothing but good experiences with them.
  15. Thanks, I'll try that. Rex I do not have the originals to measure.
  16. I would like to find out the correct size shock absorber for the 37 Presidents. I replaced them when building the car but don't believe they are doing the job as they may be the wrong working length. I would appreciate some suggestion as to what others have used or how to determine the correct size.
  17. IIRC 40 ford convertible arms and blades will work. I think I got them from Bob Drake but not sure of that.
  18. get on the Studebaker Drivers Club Forum where the focus is post war cars and you will get the information you need. You will be able to get about anything to rebuild the car as there are quite a few vendors. Just time and money needed. https://forum.studebakerdriversclub.com/forum
  19. Take the old hoses to an auto parts store try to match them up. Isn't the top one just a straight hose which would be easy to find?
  20. I did that to get where I am at now. It does not state which box each has and the cam lever has a different number which may make a difference.
  21. I checked the TightSteer website and am interested in the product for my 37 President. They do not know if it will work on it. They said that if it has the same Ross box as the 39 and 40 Presidents it would work. Anyone here know if they used the same Ross steering box? Their website chart shows that it will work on 37 Dictator 5A which has the same size adjusting pin as the President. Are the President and Dictator boxes the same?
  22. I thought I better post this here from the Technical section of this forum. The 1937 Service Manual has an incorrect alignment setting for 6A and 3C models. Those with the Planar suspension. Apparently, the manual was printed prior to the change in the front end specs. The following is the correct settings for C3 after serial number 7111836 and 6A after 528246 and California 5803288. This change applied to later years also. The following is from the discussion which can be found in the Technical section 3-13-2021 . Your information includes specifications which are different from those in the service manual. I see a foot note that tells me that cars with my car's serial number have a different specification for camber and king pin inclination in line with later models of Presidents. That is not in the service manual. That would change the service manuals camber numbers from 1 to 1.5 degrees to 1/4 to 3/4 degrees and the king pin inclination from 9.5 to 5.5.
