Possibly looking for a flat straight 8
SMB replied to SC38dls's topic in Studebaker, Erskine & Rockne
Just saw this on Ebay. Running engine. From a 42 President Skyway. https://www.ebay.com/itm/304795633525?hash=item46f73c4775:g:GgwAAOSwRo9j4SHc&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAABIEgL2adjrxHSeygETHjYrdlpMKnGqh6eP3TAIi%2B1ESM82PgPxGcSiNvigR4EawldctqjOEUkMJmilqmmnDdlMuP2yp%2FQ0%2BMmq44eb19vGZOSZHQUWfGZFeJAtaQM%2FVbsK6vuGiGy6AQjY86M83w2vLwmQlSjMcihwk105CRzWKI%2FyN2C1V%2Fq1tkuGRl5v0vbfdKy9WczsrFNjZYk4N%2FDmzUelVpHr6jK4ZdCvYAJWgXH06xBatGjbwH6wpVf32IqppvadyGErJK4GmqRoTd7ba%2FfSm2UwF8mJJsfaCkax0kfyHEVU5Cb%2BO6mbk5%2BeaZ%2BkYDG9zDodzpMNUEFDj9DswvCFobE%2BQSgRkQ8gG6tHqCNU9l7tBuuOwtkINPpofIQzg%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR4KLt73FYQ -
Ebay Motors rearranged, hard to navigate. Have you tried?
SMB replied to John_S_in_Penna's topic in General Discussion
If you put your topic in the search box and then -Ford -Chevy and so forth it will get rid of those unrelated ads. I got rid of thousands of unrelated ads that way. I also use other term such as -fits . I listed a bunch of things such as -Gates -IFS -ford -anything I did not want to show. Then each time I go to the search that option all my deletions are already entered . Makes it easy. -
I’m considering buying a 1953 Studebaker Champion Starlight Coupe.

I say go for it and have fun!. Purchase the shop , body and chassis manuals. They will be a great help in the project. Studebaker international sells them and they can be found on Ebay and at other Studebaker Vendors Get on the Studebaker Drivers Club forum for more help and information also. https://forum.studebakerdriversclub.com/forum -

More information needed. Is it a Champion or Commander? Stick or Automatic? I think a rust free body is worth the asking price for a car that may be the best looking style of the 50's. Just an opinion from a Studebaker addict. -
Not yet. |But I expect to today as the Studebaker Museum is having their drawing today and I have five chances. Just looked at my tickets - the drawing is tomorrow. Trying to be patient!

I don't think the voltage affects the sending unit. It just has to match the gauge Ohm wise. It is the gauge which will need the voltage reduced if original. A runtz voltage reducer will do that.
-
I would like the same information for the 37 President with Planar front suspension. Were does one find a "suspension mechanic"? I don't have the originals.

You need the Chassis Parts Catalog and the Body Parts Catalog (1934 to 1946) which will give you exploded views of all the parts and other information. Studebaker International will have them.
-
If I recall correctly you drill a hole to expose the pin. I don't remember where I got the measurements but I remember drilling.

Seal All will stop the leak and can be painted when dry. I stopped a leak on the bottom of one of my tanks. Available at any hardware store.

Cheap & Easy repairs that work just fine...
SMB replied to Chris Bamford's topic in General Discussion
I used Seal All to fix a leaking gas tank after my hardware man told me he had watched someone fix a motorcycle tank that was leaking at the time. I had tried the epoxy tank repair which failed first. It is now 10 years later and still good. Great stuff to have on hand with many uses. -

My biggest road trip ever! (New York to Wyoming)

Wall Drug is always a stop because of the great doughnuts - they are amazing. Next time do some touring in the Black Hills. Needles Highway and Spearfish Canyon are beautiful. We are in the center of the state on the Missouri River at the point where Lewis and Clark made first contact with the Sioux. (point at right in picture) Thanks, enjoyed your blog. -
Thanks, That must be what I thought was windlace above the door. Restoration Specialties does list wire on at their website in the windlace section.
-
Any place to find information on how to install the double windlace found on 1930's Studebakers. My upholstery guy obviously did not know how. Correct installation is pictured.

1941 Studebaker fuel tank sending unit info
SMB replied to lemondana's topic in Studebaker, Erskine & Rockne
They don't seem to be easily found. I did find that my 37 used 0-90. If you have the old unit you could check it with a multimeter. -

I've owned the 240Z, 260z and several 280Zs. All were fun but the 280s were the best with their fuel injection. I never had issues with them. I would just check for rust if it is running now.
